Is this real? many have said before they descend deeper and go into a full blown OBE they are first able to see through their closed eyelids. Is this just a hallucination or has anyone actually tried to test it and see if they can see something for real in their environment when looking through there closed eyelids. Sort of like a validation test I guess.
Yes you can see with eyes closed because you don't use the physical eyes. I for one had spherical vision... i could see the entire room in the same time.
So what about some type of validation test? say you could stick a card (which you don't know what is) on the ceiling above on your bed or wherever you go to OBE then go lie OBE on back keeping eyes closed and if you are able to see through eyelids before OBE or after or whenever, you could check out the card on the ceiling as it would be in the right position to see it through the eyelids.
You could but... reality fluctuations can and do occur.
Kra is correct.
It doesn't happen to everyone, everytime, mind you.
But it does happen.
While meditating, you'll shift perceptions slightly so you won't be seeing with your physical eyes.
Reality fluctuations aside, it's very possible. You just need to keep a clear mind, and don't have any expectations. It's that last part that is easier said than done.

i used to have a plant infrount of a cupboard door and every day id move it to the left or to the right to get in the cupboard
and one day i was meditating and i got astral sight and there were about 5 plants there instead of one
:NoY:
Often when I'm meditating I will get brief flashes of lots of different things, a horse and buggy, a coffee pot, flowers........
daniel
ok well i also have had astral vision and i can swear that most of the time it was real like one time during meditation in church i could see lots of dogs sitting at my gf's feet whilst i was in the physical but i find alot of problems with astral sight while still in my body for one i get it and then build my hopes up that am about to project and so decide to use my hands to see if my eyes are open and realising that i cant feel them open or mabye i can feel a slight opening at the bottom and so i go to the mirrow with my eyes closed still and look and can see that i have my eyes open a bit
i think sometimes its not phenomena sometimes it just there really open and we dont realise this.
the only way to be 100 percent sure its real is always where some kind of eye mask or blindfold so you cant see at all.

First, I will say that I didn't reply to any of the other posts, just this one.
This is real, sometimes 'seeing through closed eyes' happens before the OBE, and sometimes by itself. However, it is not something that happens often, and it is not a requirement for projection.
Now, what most people call 'hypnagogics' IMO is not the same as astral sight- because they can be either created by your brain (as in turning on the dream mechanism or remote viewing- while what I call 'seeing through eyelids' is exactly that- you are seeing where you are at the time as if your eyes were open, and sometimes it looks as if it were dim (which at night, it usually is, or darker).
Now, hypnagogics or remote viewing are much more common than seeing through the eyelids- I would dare say that 99% of people who project or even meditate get those, and sometimes they don't have to be 'in' deeply, however, seeing through the eyelids is not often done, usually happens at night or without any light, and I still haven't figured out how to induce it.
So that's it.
I think they are different manifestations, and possibly use different sensory apparatuses, but maybe not.
I personally get this from time to time, and it is exactly like having your eyes open, but the lighting is different. Once or twice the angle has been wrong as if I were standing 'a little bit to the right' or to the left.
The best way to test this is to open your eyes when it happens. They you see that it's the same.
I have thought of getting up with my eyes closed and seeing if I can do it, but it snaps me right out of it.

Except that some times you are in a sleep paralysis.

Strangely enough, there are only two muscles in your body that DON'T become paralyzed when you sleep: Your heart, and your EYES.
You can still open them and look around. :)

I couldn't open my eyes. There was a time when i was "fighting" to get out of that state to open my eyes and move.
Hi,
I actually ended up discovering OBE due to the fact that I was able to see through my closed eyelids with a blindfold on into my dark room at night when laying down to sleep and sometimes even before I laid down due to fatigue. I can tell you that it is not a hallucination, but at the same time it is not your real room. What you are seeing is actually a replica of the room in the non-physical dimension.
The reason I say this is because I noticed slight differences in my room, such as the distance between me and the chair at my desk. Sometimes the chair would be a little over to the left by a few inches. Sometimes it would be turned in a different direction than in reality. Also, the ceiling fan would start spinning in the other direction or stop if I thought about it. Basically your mind can manipulate the environment with your mind.

Then it wasn't due to anything physical.
Non-physically you wouldn't allow yourself to open your non-physical eyes.

I was re-iterating based upon your previous statement. :)
