Hi, I'm a 'post-epileptic' (meaning I haven't had any sort of a seizure since my last one October 3 two years ago), but I'm wondering if, having just experienced them (and still taking the pills for them, nevertheless), they are keeping me from a successful OBE or even AP experience? I only just started attempting AP, but I wanted to make sure that, being an epileptic, I won't have any kinds of problems with this. Thanks.
I am too, post-epileptic (even though I had never heard of that term before) and still take my pills off and on (I am not too rigorous with my pill taking). I am not too great at OBEs but have had some successful attempts nonetheless. I would still like to see if there is someone here that may be able to answer your question a little better.

Judging from your two posts, I would recommend that you follow the medical advice perscribed first for your health. Always comes your health first before experimentation.
Projecting and medicine should not affect having OBEs or not. Reason why I say this is because I have tried so many variations of experiments with alcohol, drugs (tylnol pm, sudafed) foods, caffine, execise, body positioning, crystals and it didn't change a thing, I still projected bottom line.

Remember that projecting is not a easy task, a one time deal and everything is perfection. It takes years of trial and error.

Okay, thanks Iamhere2learn and tvos :-) I just wanted to know if even attempting astral projecting would affect me and my seizures first before really trying my hand at one.
nothing has been reported on the issue of OBE's and seizures... if this was the case, then it would be a way of life for the medical community, health books to illustrate any sort of danger.
i would google more of this on lucid dreams, out of body experiences and health risks..
remember, i have been doing this for 21 years and my health is perfect...

It seems that if I take sleep medication that puts me in a deep sleep I am unable to have an OOBE or AP. The only time I can have either is when I'm aware of the sleep paralysis state; therefore, the sleep medication puts me into too much of a deep sleep, making me incapable of experiencing sleep paralysis.
However, I have noticed that the best time for me to experience sleep paralysis is after my Darvocet medication starts to wear off. I'll be lying on my bed watching TV and start to nod off. But the come down effects of the Darvocet is so that it makes me nod off lightly to where I can experience sleep paralysis. Once in sleep paralysis, I can easily exit my body and have either an OOBE or AP.
I don't know the answer to your question, but I must reiterate that if you're an epileptic you should not try to use binaural beats, for the same reason that strobe lights can bring on a seizure.

I noticed when looking today at the hemi-sync tracks that it warns against people trying it that have epilepsy. Funny you should bring that up. I went ahead and tried the tracks though even though I am epileptic. I am still on the first Wave and so far so good. I do not think I will have a seizure though just because I have been grand mal seizure (the shaking seizures) free since 1999 and very rarely have any other type of epileptic symptoms.

the same goes for me, though I'm trying to find ways to get into AP other than through binaural beats for the moment. I have been to really loud concerts where strobe lights have been used and not once have my seizures there. Also, on my last EGG when the strobe light test was in effect, I felt no seizure syptoms, which means that my seizures are, as far as I know, not susceptible to strobe lights and the likes. I even play Guitar Hero (which has a warning that it could give people seizures) many a time, and I can play it just fine without a seizure. But thanks for the concerns...
