Title: Separation?

You dont have to wait to try the rope technique. If you do it from when you start to when you get out, you will probably get out faster. I used to do rope, but this works better for me now:

Aggressively look at every detail of the place you want to project to. In my bedroom, I zoom in close to the carpet and feel it as much as I can. Then I zoom into other parts of the room like the walls, chairs, stove, everything. The more I try to feel their details, the more solid they get, regardless of how much vibrations I have. Doing this can cause vibrations. There is no need to pull myself out of my body with a rope because the instant I feel the carpet, part of me is out, and part is still paying attention to my body.

Interesting.

In one of my experiments, I tried shifting my point of consciousness about 3 feet in front of me and I tried to look at myself from that perspective.  But that did not work, probably because I was trying extremely hard to keep the vibrations going and not let them fade out.

So you visualize yourself in this spot and use the sense of touch to try to force yourself out?

What other methods work for you once you have at least some kind of "fast" vibration going?

No. I dont visualize myself anywhere. The only thing I'm paying attention to is feeling the carpet etc.

I dont usually do any other techniques because this one works best for me.

I'm just sort of wondering...

When the body is asleep and the mind is settled, would it help to look at my surroundings using my imagination? Mainly to set up a new focus and keep my mind away from my body. My physical body would still be quiet in my bed, but my imagination would be focused on the details of my room - carpet, walls, ceiling etc. At some point would the actual astral body be the one doing the looking and bam, I'm out? In other words, if I simulate being out with my mind, is it likely that my astral mind will take over and replace the imagination mind and boom - I'm now out of body?

This may be a good time to go back to the basics and really examine your relaxation technique. This is the foundation step and everything that follows it is useless unless relaxation is complete.  Good luck.

astral mind will take over and replace the imagination mind

astral mind = imagination mind. Your imagination normally sees lots of crazy stuff, but when it sees things that other people agree are real (like a physical place or astral pulse island), that is called projection.

beavis- when you say 'aggressively look at every detail of the place you want to project to,' do you mean you should do this beforehand and memorize it so you can have your eyes closed while trying to exit or do you actually leave your eyes open during the exit of your physical body??

Once you have reached the state where you feel extremely fast vibrational pulses building in your forehead.. is that when you do ROPE or "Roll Out" method to turn it into a real OBE?  I got to enter the state 10 different times tonight, and I kept experimenting.. but I just can't ever get out.   It's like I don't feel detached at all even, and the vibrations I do feel just suddenly fade away and I have to use an inducing technique like Monroe's white dot to get them back again.  If I try the "roll" out method its like my actual physical body is moving when I don't want it to and it breaks the state alltogether.

What has worked for you to cross this barrier and separate into the RTZ from the hypnagogic / vibration state?

Since it happened 10 times, I had the chance to experiment different methods.  What I found interesting was.. at the times when I did not do any separation technique at all and just concentrated on keeping hte vibrations "vibrating" as long as I could.. I still never got anywhere.  I eventually slipped into a lucid dream or a false-awakening.  I still, for some reason, could not get the vibrations to last longer than 10 seconds at most during all 10 experiments.  And nowhere near any separation, despite trying to roll over or imagine my etheric body being "tugged" by a ROPE or climbing (I tried different variations of it, especially with imagining a tugging of the etheric body).
