I was once reading a book and in one part it starts talking about the different spirit bodies that make up a human being and it claims that that while the physical body dies and the etheric body soon fades away after the death of the physical body that there exists a type of spiritual essence inside of a human being that can be projected out of the body and can say out for how ever long the projector wants because it has no connection to the body and is not bound to the body by the silver cord or anything else.Has anybody else ever heard about this? And is it true?

Oh by the way does anybody remember the names of any books that talks about the kinds of things i mentioned in my above post?Because i don't own that book anymore and would really like it back.

It would be difficult to say what is absolute Truth.... but
like mentioned before(in your afterlife post), the Spirit is the essence that "leaves" and isn't bound to the physical body any longer, only to the Astral body. And again, it is only for a time... That time could be millions of years of earth time, which could seem to elapse in mere days in the inner realms, or perhaps it could be a much shorter period.

There may not be one absolute way to answer this, as different belief systems/theologies have different ways of expressing the principles that constitute a human.  For example Theosophy's "The Secret Doctrine" by H.P.Blavatsky(which leans on the Hindu Vedic texts) says the human is made up of seven principles, whereas something like Franz Bardon's Initiation into Hermetics, says there are three principles.  So it's all a matter of terminology and belief.

There are many, many books which discuss these questions, with two of the good ones I named above. Another one to look for is Yogi Ramacharaka's "The Life Beyond Death".

For a detailed recap of the Theosophic idea of the 7 principles and death, checkout Geoffrey Farthing's "When we Die" http://www.theosophical.ca/WhenWeDie.htm

I agree with Kraven's suggestions. Theosophical literature is interesting stuff. I also really like Rudolph Steiner's books & lectures. My favorite actually. "How to Know Higher Worlds" is a good one, as well as "Outline of Occult Science". I don't necessarily hold all this stuff as true, as I can't confirm it, but it's very interesting stuff.
