Title: sitting + meditating = falling down?

How exactly do you meditate in a sitting position? all my attempts have led to my head falling forward or back as i got into a deep state

Try using a chair with a phonebook underneath the two front legs. It'll keep you from falling forward because of the angle.

The better your posture when you begin, the less likely you will be to fall. Also, it doesn't hurt to use braces or to tie yourself up until your perfect your posture. What starts out as a subtle flaw is often magnified when your mind withdraws its commands from the muscle.

yeah i my head falls down too... one day my neck cracked so hard, i couldnt move it at all for at least 2 days....  but if you get that one balanced point before meditating, it'll stay there throughout the whole session.
