Title: sleep Deprivation
Post by: kifyre on October 29, 2002, 20:08:09
(Inadvertent) sleep deprivation has given me results, but I don't think it's a very good long term solution! Low on sleep I'd lie down and easily fall into a nap during the day. Flickering in and out of a waking state I'd get vibrations, pushing and pulling, tones, visuals, paralysis, rising and falling, etc.

Very hard on your body. You might not think so if your realativly young, but I can promise you it will catch up with you, and when it does it will suck. Sleep is a very important thing. You need to get as much of it as possible. Your more likely to have more worthwhile projections from sleeping too much opossed to not sleeping enough.

My uneducated advice: Get some sleep! too hard on the body to be worth anything....

i think it sounds dangerous to practice sleep deprivation for too long but it sounds like a good short term technique, like once a fortnight?

Sounds like a decent idea for getting you out the first time.  Once you have that boost in confidence, then get some sleep and try it more naturally.

Sleep deprivation has  worked for me several times,But I cannot be in bed or else I will go right into a very deep sleep. Its seems easier for me the other way around.

Going back to sleep when I normally would wake up.I find I can project a bunch of times when doing this.

Try to push your imagination for a bit,Than drift  back to sleep. It has to be something simple.Having a half asleep mind makes it alot harder to use your imagination.

You will not be asleep for long.So you can keep on trying it,for as long as you are able to go back to sleep. If your intent is in the right place. You just might become aware that you have fallen sleep.

Its all fun and games from there

note:Ive really only been experimenting with this, for a very short time. Its worked pretty much every time I was feeling lazy enough to try it.Some extra sleep can never be a bad thing can it?

I'd like to know the overall opinion about using sleep deprivation has a way to induce projection.  For me it the only way I've been able to achieve it.  I'm trying to focus more on fully conscious from start to finish.  I don't want to depend on sleeping and waking up.  Has anyone progressed from this one method to the other?  Will practicing projection in the early morning help overall?
