yeah, its sort of the method that has been the most successful with me. I dont even attempt to go into trance first. My tip to you is to use somewhere you are very familiar with, your house or whatever, while laying down to sleep start imagining yourself walking outside of yourself, starting with your immediate area, try and see as much as you can, and most importantly imagine with your other senses as well, smell if your in kitchen for example and feel the textures of sofas, walls. Do this for as long as you can before you get bored.

What happened to me when I did this is that I felt it was getting harder to breath for a few seconds then I felt light, like there was a force lifting me up, I then tried to concentrate on lifting or floating out and that felt promising.

Possibly the one reason I didnt exit was that I wasnt in trance. Trance is the bit I find the hardest to do, in fact I have only been in trance once! the only obe I have ever had was lucid dream induced.

anyway hope this helps.

His other book, I think it is called Secret of the Soul or something like that, has his "target technique" and several others. It even has varieties of the rope technique. Anyone who has not bought one of William Buhlman's books and who is looking to buy one should get the one with more techniques. I think I will go to Amazon.com and look it up.

Looks like Robert Bruce was there and he had this to say about it:

--Robert Bruce, author of Astral Dynamics
"The arcane integrity of this book shines throughout, as does Buhlman's sincerity. Friendly, engaging and informative--priceless!"

thanks for the input!
I tried it twice yesterday, trying to imgaine another place and making the mental affirmation as I drift off to sleep.
First time I couldn't fall asleep! My body was not much there already, but my mind was still too awake.
Second time, I just dozed off without being able to hold my affirmations strong enough... http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_sad.gif" border=0>

oh well, will continue trying! http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

wierdzly

The key is to keep doing a technique you like at least once a day, for around 30 minutes. If after a couple months you are not getting any results try another technique. I find his sleep programming cd very effective. one of my most successfull techniques is to get up in the middle of the night ( as I am now ). Then go back to sleep after about an hour with the cd playing.

WEIRDZLY!

I just started reading William Buhlman's "Adventures Beyond The Body" (half way through) and it's an absolutely excellent book so far!

I notice that from the descriptions of his OBE experiences, his method to achieve an OBE is via a combination of imagining he's somewhere else physical (in as much detail as possible), and/or repeating the mental affirmation "I am now out-of-body", as he drifts off to sleep.

After that, he would typically awake with an onslaught of the vibrations, at which point he would just mentally will himself out of the body.

Anyone tried this method? If it works, it'd seem relatively easier than other methods I've been reading about so far.

ANyway, off to try it now! Wish me luck! http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0>
