I experience sleep paralysis quite a bit... and now I'm beginning to understand how it works and how to differentiate when its happening and when I'm out of it. In this particular experience, I fell asleep and felt myself going into paralysis BUT while in paralysis, I decided to get up. I looked around my room and noticed that all of my closet doors were open, I knew that I must be in sleep paralysis bc I close my closet doors every night before I lay down. So anyway, I attempted to close the closet doors but as I did, they opened back up by themselves to their original open position. This was all the of the assurance I needed to know that I was not in the physical world. BUT, then I turn around and see my toddler daughter standing there and she's talking to me like normal. I'm like huh? So I kneel down in front of her and I tell her to "slap momma's cheeks." bc I need to come out of this. She does it... I tell her to slap my cheek a couple more times and she doesn't hesitate (she's having a blast doing this by the way). Soon after a few slaps, I wake up! I turn over and she's still sleeping next to me. I decide to wake her up and say hi just in case she was stuck in paralysis. So... my question is, when I'm experiencing paralysis and I see my daughter up and about while I'm in that state, does this mean that she is experiencing sleep paralysis at the same time? Thanks
Sounds like you were both out of body. You might ask her what she remembers.
