To AP do you just lie there until you cant feel your body anymore then imagine exiting your physical body? how long does this take on average? do you have to be really still? ty.

I assume so. I have done the lying there until going numb. and have gotten some weird feelings in my body.

SkepticBoy

Yeh you may have gotten weird feelings but you think you could AP?

astralmugee

with enough meditation yea.  your born with your body and grow up with it, so trying seperate from your body takes alot of mental preperation. if you try lying there and going numb and project your mind eventually you will have an obe and AP. ive had no luck so far but have had some interesting feelings when attempting this, its just a matter of time before it happens.

I'll suggest you may want to buy some books on AP, they might help you by giving it to you in a structured form.

There's a lot more too it than that... but that's a good start. How long it takes after laying down varies person to person  :-D And you don't have to be laying down, you can do it in a chair too!  :-o If you're just starting out it will probably take around 30 minutes, and may take several days or weeks to start feeling something new.

And yes you have to be 99% still. My body or subconscious likes to trick me into thinking I have an itch to test if I'm awake, I swear.

lol, funny. I have chronic eczema so staying still my skin feels like its crawling.so a test indeed, I also for some damned reason, my mouth waters like crazy so I have to swallow every couple a minutes. that only happens when I lye completely still.

K so you lie there still and try and visualize your astral body getting out yes?

After I read this thread, I tried a new method to get out quickly.

I waited till I was pretty tired (you know, when you're at the computer but you can't focus anymore), then I lied down and kept still. This is tough, but there's not much time before brain waves lower and the mind begins to wander beyond control. The goal is to keep still and zonk out while your mind still active and your heart is moving at normal rate. This way, you'll be able to focus while falling into a sleep state, and you can actively instruct yourself to pull out.

When I did this, I fell into a brief sleep state (as expected), my mind blacked out for a second but then it came back and I was buzzing all over, and feeling that disoriented spinning motion. I probably could have gotten out but my spirit must have corrected itself and stayed in, and the whole thing wore off. I didn't have to wait for any numbness or gradual vibrations or anything.

This is similar to the method I use for telepathy (where I go into a brief sleep while focussing on a question), so I'm pretty confident it'll work after a few more tries.
