Infinity is something we cannot comprehend.  It is everything and nothing, simultaneously.  It's just a weird concept in general...Perhaps it's based on desire.  I guess if you picture yourself having everything you could possibly desire in the universe(not just materially)...you come to that point, which is seemingly infinite, that there is no desire left.  And if there was a person with no desire, that would in a way make him nothing--as the soul would have no desire to live.

I think we would have seemingly superhuman powers compared to certain galaxies simply by our power of focus being superior(which I don't believe is very superior in this world) Focus is the key in obtaining the improbable, for there is only one truth, one solution, one effect, for every cause.  I believe it's only a matter of tapping into the truth... unfortunately it takes a mind that is not clouded by emotion, and a true love for the truth.

Do you guys enjoy talking about mathematics in terms of what you "believe?"

David Warner

actually, I do enjoy stats and math but I suck at it - hence had my brother run the stats on the card verification. we should change the subject because this is getting rather old... to me that is.. (IMO)

Oh, I apologize, TVOS. I wasn't referring to you, specifically.

Vvid1012

How else would you talk mathematics,,, in terms of what you didnt believe??

Telos

How about in terms of deduction?

Vvid1012

After 4 years of calc, I think I have forgotten most of it now, heh... but they consistantly talk about the limits of certain differentiated functions going to zero.  Im not quite sure if this is relevant or not...but it's all I can come up with mathematically...That's why I came up with a real life scenario.  Many things in life cannot be explain mathematically.

Well right off the bat I re-read my post and it was definitely
Quotenot washed repetitions of empty guru affirmations
.
These are my ideas. Period.

The problem it seems is the invention of "new age". Just to keep facts straight I'm as far from "new age" as you could go, which includes heavy swearing, drinking, smoking cigars (last nite had an insane Authur Fuentes cigar with a green wrapper. Very very good cigar ) and of course the eternal game of pursuit of the opposite sex.   ...Oh and online gambling...hehehe.

I could say that these are my own personal ideas from acute observations of existence and I don't give a damn what  the fluffy bunnies over in the "new age" arena believes......but then it looks like you probably won't believe me.

It seems to me you are biased, just because of the fluffy "new agesism" (and believe me I don't blame you  :) ) towards these ideas.
But when I find an idea I go with my gut instinct on it and don't care who else believes it.

Quotebig fat Infinite or a big fat zero, which coincidentally is the same exact thing.

This could go on for days, cause it's such a triiiiiiippy concept. I sense hours and hours of contemplation on that idea. It's another thing that I sense intuitively. There's actually a book on the market on the history of "zero". Zero is a relatively new invention. (In fact I'm gonna go get that book and read it. Then once I've finished I'm sure I'll have more banter to banter on this group.)

Is infinity and zero the same thing? Spend the time and STOP and think about it. Your mind will stretch. Mathematical formulaes? Who the hell knows, I don't cause I sucked in mathematics.  8)

QuoteChange your world-view, and your reality changes.
Simplistic statements to me is the essence of the universe. Keeps things simple, cause when you're dealing with an infinite-self-generating- loop-"program" (which is what we're in....OR should I say, what we ARE) then one had better keep things simple, otherwise one will get caught !

Concerning your attempts at changing your world view and it not working out. It's easy, you need to apply the following Zen koan into your mind.
Think about the Koan where a western professor comes to visit a Zen master. He asks how he can know what Zen is. The Zen master asks he if he wants some tea. The professor wonders why the Zen master switched the subject so abruptly but says yes, and the Zen master proceeds to fill his cup.......but then just keeps pouring, until the cups overflows....and just keeps pouring and pouring and pouring and........
