Sounds like you were close to projecting and your so called astral body was seperating. When in spirit form normal laws of physics do not apply so you are able to change shape and size.

Yesterday I was attempting to astral project using one of the brainwave generator programs.  I had the strangest senation I felt like my physical dimension's had changed, ie size, shape,  the strangest was with my hands I knew they were placed by my sides but it felt as if they were right beside each other instead of on at my sides, what was this?
