Title: Something hit my head??
Post by: Aaron330 on June 13, 2014, 16:42:33
I've been having alot of success again this past week, every day I've been inches away from an OBE. Finally today I believe I did it, although just briefly. It took me three times to get it right. The first time I started to hear the high pitch "tuning fork" sounding ring and so I knew it was time to start imagining myself in motion. As soon as I did the ringing sound got extremely loud (as usual) and I felt myself strongly phasing somewhere. I was staring at an empty room with a table and a chair on the other side facing me (sort of like a police interrogation). It never came fully into focus but for a minute I was there and I could see it pretty clearly! But I thought "I hope i don't think of the physical and ruin this!" which of course I did.

The second time I was just laying there asleep but sort of conscious, and all the sudden it felt like I hit my head against something! Either that or like someone gently bonked me on the head with a 2x4. I can't say that it "hurt" necessarily but it was just as real as the physical and it startled me, even though I couldn't see anything still. I screamed out "what the hell?!" and opened my physical eyes. Perhaps my astral body hit its head on something? lol

The third time I finally was able to flop out onto the floor, and I actually had some vision this time! Although it was very dream like, and my vision looked like a klidescope. Anyways, super excited about the progress!

That's great!!  (not about your head) lol.   My mom complains that something is hitting her on the leg and foot sometimes at night.  Pretty hard, too.  She thinks it's happening in the physical, but I know she lays there at night not able to sleep and probably phases without realizing it.  She thinks it's a spirit trying to get her attention.  Maybe so, who knows.  She does see a 'ghost' every once in a while.

Great progress!  It'll probably get easier for you now.  :)

If you can imagine the physical is behind you and your destination is infront, any looking back will trip you up. The roads are not smooth and while your learning its like running through a forest.
Look towards the destination or you'll trip up, trying to not think of the physical is a bad move as you found out. Ignore it completely, easy said, you'll get further faster and reap the rewards too.
The 3x2 is an occasional bonus. I've been slapped in the face by a misty white whatever during phasing a few times.
At least something is noticing your attempts. It's most likely a subconcious manifestation. Laugh at it and continue. You scared yourself and didn't know you did it lol. Things like this are previous thought wonderments. They program the subconcious to react to the self posed question of what youd actually do if you were party to the thought.

Wow...very interesting. So essentially, "how would I react if something hit me over the head while trying to project?" and then my subconscious makes it happen?

Thanks as always for the advice. I try so hard to ignore the physical completely and each time I get better, but it feels like I can never completely shut it out. I'll feel my body lying on the bed while I'm phasing or whatever and think "why can I still feel my physical body? I must not be in sleep paralysis enough" and that will end it.

Walk before you can run though, I'll take the progress I've made, as I had a 6 week period with no results whatsoever. So this is fantastically exciting :-)

The sounds are in every experience I have. I can generate them to order too now, this is the same for anyone.
The images and tactile sensations are more involved, once these are mastered you can use them to phase at will.
As the 3x2 was 'real feel', the slightest fear thoughts can manifest. These thoughts include any you have during the day, especially if you are daydreaming and place yourself within the experience through strong visualisations, (the way you do when you imagine a win the lottery billion dollar jackpot).
This is the best way to imprint info into your subconcious instantly. It takes a few hours to a couple of days to reappear in your dreams.
This programmed info starts its work as the sleep cycle starts. This is exactly the time we are experiencing hypnagogic effects.
You can use this to help stay on course without falling asleep if you know  and already expect your previous programming.

Imagine seeing a large flock of birds and flying through them invisibly. You'll get slapped by a few wouldn't you. Be there and feel the impacts in a strong daydream, it helps if you can disconnect mentally from your surroundings during this, the same as in deep meditation.
If taking away the birds feels better, you could use a flock of 3x2's instead, it would still work.
:-D
The events like being slapped or pulled in a direction, even being stuck are all self generated. Think on it as test of expectations. If you expect it to be hard, it will be. If you read someones experience and they were stuck at the left foot so couldnt get away, dont imagine being stuck yourself, this is a very good hint for success. If you do the chances are you'll experience a similarity and fail an exit.
Its these type of thoughts that control your experiences when out there.

That's interesting but it makes a lot of sense. I can't say I fear being hit over the head or thought about it, but I'm sure many of those thoughts may be subconscious. I'm still not totally convinced my astral body didn't float up and bonk its head on the ceiling or something like that either.

The thing that's weird for me though is that when I seem to "get out" or "phase" somewhere, it's as if my Astral body is incredibly sleepy or something. Perhaps I'm taking my physical awareness (being relaxed and asleep) over into my astral awareness, but its strange. I try to "roll out" or move an astral limb and its like I can't barely move at all. Everything is extremely sluggish. When I flopped out onto my bedroom floor, my vision was like a Klidescope, or like looking through a shattered mirror. I was looking at my curtains, the wood floor, the dresser, my dog sleeping underneath my bed, and the door all at once. I was able to sleepishly moan out "aawwwarreeness......nnoooowww..." and of course nothing happened lol.

Any ideas on what is happening here? It's been like this every time so far. I know eventually I will get better at it but for now I'm just curious as to why I feel like I'm drugged up or whatever.

I get that sluggishness and poor eyesight sometimes when I exit next to my physical body.  Struggling against it in any way just makes it worse. Leave that struggling picture of yourself behind and adopt a new mind set.  Maybe picture yourself (in the first person) outside your room, away from your bed and freely moving forward.  Instantly switch gears from struggling to freely moving.  That works well for me.

Nice. Definitely a technique I will try out next time. The problem is my projections haven't lasted longer than 10-15 seconds cuz I always end up thinking of my physical body which immediately ruins it lol. This will get better with time though

Its whats on your mind or an expectation you have.
First thing, the body you refer to is a manifestation. You are pure conciousness and the body is a tie to the physical mindset.
As Soarin has pointed out, being near the sleeping body can affect you, this is common knowledge. Do  whatever it takes to move away.
As a result of thinking you may be banging yourself on the ceiling, you are setting up limitations and conditions based on physical world attributes, youre non physical and therefore have a new set of rules to learn.

Dang, how do I always forget that? lol. I keep thinking of having an "astral body", which is the whole problem. I will definitely keep that in mind and just imagine myself as a floating thought bubble or something. Or, if I still find myself laying on the floor feeling drugged again, I'll just crawl through the wall until I can get outside or something. Cuz at this point like you said, its just a matter of getting as far away from the body as possible. To my credit, the last experience was the first time I've ever actually gotten completely out though. All experiences before I've still been halfway "stuck" in the body.

This process sure is difficult to learn, but I'm having a lot of fun with it anyway. I think when I have my first full blown OBE I will probably be high as a kite for days!
