My first experience with OBE

This is my first post on this forum, I just found you guys the other day. Happy to be here and hope I can learn from everyone's experiences. 

One of my experiences I wanted to share with you all happened to me back in the early 90's. I was moving into a town home in in Centreville VA. I had to wait at my new home for the cable man to come hook up my cable TV. We had no furniture in the house yet except for an old TV needed by the cable tech for testing.

It was about 10:00am when I was stilling in the living room reading a book I just started called "Raja Yoga" the first in its series. In the middle of the living room the sun was shinning brightly through the sliding glass doors. However I managed to lay my head down and use this book as a small pillow of sorts.

I remember falling asleep then waking up as if I was startled. I had lifted myself up but still laying down. What scared the hell out of me was I fell asleep in the warm sun coming through the windows but I awoke and it was pitch black. I was thinking to myself that I should be seeing sun light, I'm awake like someone shook me trying to wake me up.

My heart was racing and I was almost in a panic when I look over behind me and saw a white light off in the distance. I felt I could go to it if I wanted but in my panic I laid back down in the same position I was in and tried to wake up. I could feel the carpet and book on my face when I laid back down as well.

It took a minute or so till I finally awoke in the very bright room I feel asleep in, warmed by the sun. I wasn't trying to have an OBE but the feeling I had was in perfect clarity and not a dream state. 20 years later I remember the experience as if it happened yesterday.

Now I'm trying to get to that same place/experience again through the same techniques you all are using. I hope to be there soon. Anyway, thanks for reading and I'm sure be posting more on these forums.
