Any chance that you were actually in an obe/ld and that it was just an exact replica of your room?  I know that such dreams are often so real as to be indestinguishable from real life.  I myself have "woken up" in my room before thinking it was my room, then realizing that due to an array of factors (such as not being able to feel my sheets sometimes), that I was actually still dreaming.

Then when you tried to project, you did an instant transport into a dream realm?

That's just my guess tho.

I had an interesting experience last week while I was out of town for work.  I had been meditating for some time, and stopped to go to sleep.  However, instead of entering a dream state it seemed I was looking through a round lens at the room I was in, except that everything was spinning.  It was quite a pleasurable sensation, not dizzying at all.  After about 5 or 10 seconds I realized that I was not dreaming, but I was not awake either.  I just went with the experience for a while, but for some reason I panicked and tried to exit by projecting.  This ended the experience and I then went into lucid dreaming and soon awoke.

I am just wondering, what happened?  Has anyone else had any similar experiences?
