Involuntary vibrations when I was young?

I remember when I was little, like six or eight years old, and I would be trying to fall asleep, it would feel as if I were getting tossed back and forth rapidly.  It felt as if I were the ball in a game of paddleball.  I wouldn't always "bounce" back and forth in the same plane.  Sometimes it would be front to back, left to right, or up and down.  I always wondered what these were, and I thought they were normal.  I would also be able to see the "3-d blackness" that I have now become accustomed to.  Would what I experienced be involuntary vibrations, or were they just nothing.

Thanks,

I know mee too. I felt like my head was shaky and then I'd dream some thing. lol That's probably the earliest lucid dream I remember. What I dreamed was like watching television in my head. I think after that I had a falling sensation and I woke up.

I feel this too when I am tired sometimes. Like the imaginary wall behing my closed eyes is moving back and forth quickly. I think it has something to do with the brain waves

Hmmm.

Get into the rhythm of the movement and relax into them when they happen.
Should result in something interesting.

I just noticed this a while (long while) back and it seems worth investigating. Whatever it is.

Vibrations are side effects of awareness shifting focus.  You don't experience them if you shift focus quickly- that is fall asleep quickly.  But if your body falls asleep before your conscious mind, you witness the focus change and you experience vibrations.
As to what they are, nobody knows.  But a good guess is that as brainwaves slow down  your consciousness lags behind and experiences the frequency change as vibrations.  It's also possible that your consciousness is doing the opposite (speeding up) and then you experience different types of vibrations.  But this is only speculation.

Hi All,

I used to get the same thing when I was younger, as well. Almost every night it seemed, as I was falling asleep it would feel like I was on a boat gently rocking on the waves. I didn't think anything about it, because it was "normal" for me.

Vibes come in many varieties.
From earthquake like slow motions, swinging sensations... to violent electric shocks.

And all people get them, many don't even notice. If you did, you have a natural talent, use it....
