I remember reading a lecture by Rudolph Steiner, where he said the best way to communicate with passed loved ones (for the non-clairvoyant) is when you wake up in the morning, there is a "state" that everyone passes through before you make any physical movements. In this state, he said is where you can make communication possible. I never understood this state he was talking about, until now. I've been doing obe practice diligently for 5 or 6 months, and 75% of the time when I wake up now, I go through a "trance" phase. I've really made a note of it, because never in my life have I experienced it before. The only thing is, I kind of half-sleep through it. My awareness isn't quite all there, but when I'm fully awake, I remember what happened. It's like I sort of know I'm in bed, but at the same time I'm focused on what comes up in my mind. Normally it's just strange dreams and conversations.

The other morning as I woke, I kept imagining that I was painting a picture of myself in a scene, but my image in the picture was translucent, and no matter how much I painted, I couldn't paint myself solid. How's that for symbolism?

Anyways, I guess my point is that the trance state is very unique and can be had both when "going out" and "coming back". The difference is, when "going out" you have a hold on consciousness, and have to keep it held, and when "coming back", it has to be consciously recognized to be of use.

Anyways, back to the trance state and recognizing. Its something you have to feel and use your imagination. As I've said many times, I use my method by rolling around inside myself like a log or crouched into a little ball.. from there I am able to connect. this keeps my mind active and connects to the trance while my body falls asleep.

Hope this makes sense.

mmm... you've got to add some more detail there Tvos, and you expand and explain more your method here?

BillionNamesofGod and Ap Friends...

I started off writing a lengthy detailed description of this request. This will be for others as well. I will submit this to the mods to post in the permanent section.

For the last two months now, I've been using binaural beats from the brain wave generator web site www.bwgen.com to assist with astral projection. So far, I've not seen any results except that I'm put down into a deep rest-full sleep. However, the mental programming and audio listening to the binaural beats could possibly help for future development.

Night after night, I kept the repetitive cycle of falling asleep, not getting anywhere with this method. I've tried setting the alarm clock 20mins after when the binaural music stops to awake me.

What I did figure out is this.

Alarm Clock Technique

1. Music is too relaxing and hypnotic which puts me to a deep sleep.

2. If I set the alarm to go off different times, the music doesn't well
   to awaken.

3. Its best to use a sound that is annoying that will wake you up.

4. Set the alarm clock first to go off 30mins when you start to sleep.

5. Set the alarm clock after that 22mins, 30mins, 15mins, 37mins.
Break up the pattern. This will fool your mental mind and off-set your
   sleep.

6. Make sure that you allow the alarm clock to continuously sound. Do not
allow the option for snooze. Otherwise, you will more likely fall asleep.

7. When you exercise the motion of falling asleep then awaken to the
alarm clock. Imagine you are curled up into a little ball, or pretend
that your a log. Feel, visualize, sense and start moving in a spinning
   or rolling motion.

8. While your physical is falling to sleep, you are keeping your mind active
and aware. Usually, about the time your body falls to sleep is the point
where the vibrations occur. You can distinctly tell off in the distance
that the vibrations will be far away. Pull them closer which will start to
increase. Note: Although this you are still exercising rolling and
   spinning around.

9. When the vibrations hit a certain level of comfort, it is now time to exit.

10. The method that I've used time and time again is just to roll right off
the bed and onto the bed to separate from the physical. Sometimes, I
just spin quickly and outward float.

11. Once you are out of body, the best thing to do is get far away as
     possibly and keep moving.

The important thing about this technique is that it will require patience, incredible will power. It might sound easy to do but takes great strength to awake during the night at random times.

Hope this makes sense and helps..

yeah BWgenerator gets me in trance fast. it also puts me to sleep sometimes too. anything with brainwaves seems to.

nice tutorial. i do believe you will like this program. it does exactly what you are describing. the alarm thing.

you can download the file for use offline if you want too. apparantly its called "rhythm napping". i have yet to use it to wake me up. i usually have it set to make a low volume noise every 10 minutes or so during the night to improve my recall a bit. i should try it for real though.
