I previously posted this, as a reply to another post..I'm new to this site, please forgive me. I have had the same experience over and over for many years. I have asked friends and family if they also experience this and no one seems to even grasp what I'm trying to relate..perhaps someone here can give me some insight.
What happens is when I am coming into a wakeful state after being asleep or ??? I have this shaky feeling inside all over my body, almost to the point of it feeling twitchy. At the same time, I see flashes of images, some as simple as letters, or numbers or symbols, and lately others such as scenery, these images speed by at many per second, but I am able see what they are. These images used to appear to me to look like they were on the old Green Screen Computer monitor, and more recently they seem more black and white and silvery. Last night I had a very "real" dream that I saw my great grandmother and told her how much I missed her and loved her. I remember being pulled back slowly from her to this wakeful experience of being shaky and seeing all these images..any input? Anyone else ever experienced this?
If you're saying that you're "seeing" imagery and stuff like that while you're in the process of waking up... that's call "hypnopompic imagery".
The same thing happens when you're falling asleep, but it's called "hypnogogic imagery". It's perfectly normal. :)
The shaking however, I can't answer for ya. Sorry.
