Hello all, first off I want to introduce myself. My name is Katie and I am new to astral projection, sort of. I say sort of because I tried for months a few years ago without success and since then haven't tried. However my interest was retained and I'm back on a forum to try and learn more. I had a question (which corresponds with the subject). Is it possible to "help" someone out of their physical body? I asked a man that could AP a few years back if that was possible and I can't for the life of me remember what his answer was. I'm sure that there would be a lot of people who would be wary of doing such a thing but I would be very interested in it. I was needless to say very unsuccessful then and would appreciate any help or advice anyone could give me now. Thanks!

(OH! I also had another question. Is it more difficult to try to AP while sleeping with someone else in the bed? Those of you with live-in significant others/husbands/wives, what do you think?)

Ive never projected myself yet, ive not had energy to focus on learning.

But when i was like 14 years old i was in a chat room for WICCA, and got talking to some 40 something year old man from america.

We spent a long time talking (the whole room) and they was trying to teach me how to project, then one day he said "im going to try and force open your third eye chakra"

Then like maybe 10 or 20 seconds later or something i felt a burning on my forehead (in the place where the third eye is suppose to be), then i looked back at the screen and he said "did you feel that?", i obviously said yes.  But it didnt work and i still could not project, but he and a few others in the room could project.

Also a woman in there had me take a cup and put it somewhere in my room, then focus all my attention on the cup so i could see it even when i closed my eyes.  She then told me where the cup was...  it was "behind the printer on the floor", and also said "you kept focusing on the printer" which was right, i was finding it hard to focus on the cup.

Im 19 now, so that was all a long time ago, so my memories of the experiences are pretty vague now.  But still it all interests me.

I dont know if its possible to help somebody out of there body, it might be, it might not be.  Projecting is no easy task, it apparently doesnt take much to drag you back to your body, infact just thinking of your body seems to make most people get dragged back to it.

I wish you luck with your journey of discovery my friend.

That is extremely interesting to me. I wish I could find someone out there capable and willing to do that for me/others. I try my hardest and I'm pretty sure I may have almost gotten out once but then I lost it. :-(

Please please, more suggestions!

Nice to see you've regained some interest in the mystic.

The answer is Yes, it's possible to help someone out. If you go that route your best bet is to ask a higher spirit to help you out; and do this every night before you fall asleep.

From what I know it takes someone already out-of-body who then goes to the person (who is asleep) and tries to interact with their astral body. The person who is sleeping will usually see the APer in the form of a dream, the APer will try to interact with the person and tell them to leave their body.

At this point it varies, sometimes the person is able to "wake up" and leave the dream, other times they're not.

Other ways that would fit with your question are asking spirit guides, spirits, higher beings, your higher self, etc for help while in a meditative state before sleeping.

It's not more difficult to AP with someone near you, unless they're tossing about, snoring, or otherwise disturbing you. However, If you're focusing on the person, noticing, or thinking about them maybe it would be best to do it alone.

I don't think you're going to get results (help from another APer) unless they either know you well in real life or are around your physical body at the time you want out.

My advice to you is to change the method you're using to get out of yer body. Try a new one every week if you're not getting results.

Personally, I think just trying to watch yourself fall asleep works best (at least for me). You think of some scenario which then starts to become a dream, and if you catch it just right you'll pick up on vibrations if nothing else.

Anyway good luck

Hi,

Concerning your first question about someone helping someone else; I've heard that it's possible but the helper has to be somewhat advanced.  I've heard of people, when they have consciousness but aren't out yet, calling to some spirit or spirit guide around them who will help you out, and that working.  I'm not sure if it's because there actually is a spirit who helps you, or if it's the effect that your calling someone is having on your subconscious that does the trick.  I've personally tried to call for someone to help me out but it didn't work, though it could have been because I wasn't ready.  I think this MP3 link might have Robert Bruce talking about this subject: http://www.astralsource.com/teleseminar.html.  Both are good but I think the top one talks about helping someone else (I could be wrong, but listen anyway because R.B. is really cool.)

As far as the easiest way to project - download the www.saltcube.com videos and try the OBE timer method.  It worked for me the first time.  I'm still trying it and getting varied results depending on many factors.  It was a big boost ahead from what I was doing before.  I'm still a newbie to this though and there's a lot more to learn.

Concerning whether you can project with someone else in the bed, you definitely can, but they have to be quiet and not bothering you.  I sleep with both my wife and baby, and I've projected at least twice with them there.  If the baby is crying, it's impossible.  I prefer not to be touched while sleeping so I'd rule that out too.  It's probably ok if your sleeping partner gets up to use the bathroom or rolls over, just as long as they don't touch you, make too much noise, or disturb you.  It's also your frame of mind - if you're irritated and upset that they're there when you're trying to project, it will mess you up.  The best way to look at it is that as you advance, you want to gain the skill to be able to project even under sub-optimal conditions.  For example, I'm sure you're able to fall asleep and sleep well in hotels, on the couch watching TV, in a chair, in the car (not while driving though!) etc.  Projecting should be the same.

Cheers,

If a projector could find you while you were having an ordinary dream, he/she could be able to comunicate the fact that you're dreaming thus maybe inducing an OBE that way (having pre-arranged this with the dreamer). Some projectors say that dreaming people appear drunk and unresponsive in the astral plane, so it may be tricky to get your message across.
My ex-partner used to grind her teeth relentlessly all night. Since I 've been single again my OBE's have gone through the roof (so to speak!)
