maybe, you thought you awoke but werent fully. Instead of awaking you may have entered the astral for a split second. Im not sure what you really did but it sounds pretty cool. Ill take a look at the Astral DYnamics book by Robert Bruce and see what i can find.

Til then i hope you get some better answers from others then what i just posted lol

good luck, T_Kman0610

OK, i got it! you entered the Hypnopompic state. This is the the transitional state between sleeping and waking. The effects are visual and auditory hallucination.
Thats I got lol but Im pretty sure im right on this, I researched it myself.

This happened again to me today!

I basically woke up after a dream.
And I felt myself drifting to sleep, so I decided to increase awareness, or be concious (because my original attempt was to do a WILD [wake-induced lucid dream]).. when I 'woke-up' or became concious right when i was about to go into the sleep-state.. it happened again.
:
This time my heart beat 3 times.  It was a VERY LOUD beat.  I had sleep parlaysis and felt mild vibrations..  This time I wasnt scared.  But I still got out of it without tring anything [:(].
:

The weirdest thing is with my heart beating.. what is causing my heart to beat so loud before this occurs?
So what do you guys suggest I should do.. Any questions/comments?

thanks

I'm not that experianced but the heart sensation could be your heart chakra, it doesent sound quite like the way I experiance it but you may experiance your heart chakra differently. Either that or the sound/feel of your real physical heart beat is just magnified to your astral sences. Either way I wouldent let it bother you.

It sounds as if your dream work has led to you being consious at stageis of the hypnagogic/hypnopompic state when you would not normally have any conious awareness. If your bodies paralised and you can feel the vibration, you may very well be able to project.

I'd sugest next time at least try and see if you can stretch out a nonphysical arm and touch somthing out of reach.

Hey - I'm not completely sure what happened here.. heres what happened:

I had this dream it was about me running some sort of a group type thing, and to get in this group you had to prove that you where a lucid dreamer.  The first guy I think passed, and then the second guy had an OBE, when he/she awoke she asked so did i have a dream, and I said I think you had more than a dream!

I then awoke, and and my bed and body started vibrating.  And during the transition of this my heart skipped a beat - but it wasnt a normal skip of the beat, because it didnt have the 'hurting' feeling it usually does.  Anyways, After this, still vibrating, Im not sure what I saw but for a second I think I saw double.. like me, laying down doubled or something.  but im not sure.  I then quickly concentrated on getting back because I didnt know what was goin on and I eventually was back.

So what is your guys ideas on what was goin on?
