This is a book sharing my experiences and findings about the out-of-body experience. I am Cezyl, or Darryl E. Berry Jr., and I am an independent researcher into existence.
The out-of-body experience is one way in which we can learn about literally anything in existence, any idea, thought, or knowledge. The most significant of your guidance is inside you, and it seems that guidance has led you to this book and beyond in your development. Thus many things can be tools along your way. You can glance the bibliography at the back of this book for leads.
Study, learn, experiment, and explore. Know that all the truths of existence are yours by right, and are thus immediately and directly within your grasp, if you allow them to be. There is no need for intermediaries, not in the form of individuals, nor in the form of organizations. This book and my path (the Cezyln path, 'Cezyln' meaning Cezyl's or of/by Cezyl) can help you develop tools and shares information to help you in the development of your path. I encourage individualism and self-knowledge. Ultimately the path is individual and unique. The fourth-density reality is beyond secrecy and separation, beyond obligation and conditions, beyond complication and imposition. Remember this.
All knowledge in existence is available to each individual directly. And this is what will liberate the earth, for the follies of man and the ignorance and control of the populace are made possible because mankind has cut itself off from the source, and instead focuses on intermediaries in the form of individuals and/or organizations. Neither are needed, and it seems that the more profuse the organization the more limiting and circular the message. By 'circular' I mean that the direction of these things are only to the leader-release-savior/god, to the organization's dogmas, or to the faction/sect's 'isms'. Instead of this the direction can be to the source, to the infinite, or to the tools that can allow you to directly access the infinite. Thus everyone can be free on their own right, with no need for intermediaries to guide them, no need to prostrate to any man or organization. And then we are free.

The Cezyln Way of Looking at Development
1)   Never let those less proficient catch you

I don't mean this in the sense of competition, but in the sense of playful motivation. Those that are less proficient than you, never let them catch you! Why? Because it works hand in hand with number two:

2)   Be sure to catch up with those more proficient than you

Those that are more proficient than you, be sure to catch them! Be sure to catch up with them in skill level and proficiency. This works hand in hand with number three:

3)   Be sure to help everyone, including those more proficient, less proficient, and equal in proficiency, as best you can

Now we have one person who is more proficient, who is practicing and developing his/her hardest so that no one can catch them. A playful race. Then we have someone who is less proficient, trying to catch the person that is more proficient. A steady motivation. Yet we have both people helping the other as best as possible.
Even though the less proficient player is trying to catch the more proficient player, the less proficient player helps the more proficient player as best as he/she can. What does this do? It gives the less proficient player more love and goodness in his/her life, as well as even more motivation, like the proverbial horse with the carrot dangling from a stick, egging it on. It keeps going further. Then we have the more proficient player, who though has the goal of never getting caught, helps the less proficient player as best as he/she can. This generates more love and goodness in his/her life, as well as providing even more playful motivation. Then everyone evolves, and everyone grows, and this planet, and thus the universe, moves that much faster to the next level and beyond.
I hope for you to see that there is no limit to the levels of development that may be reached, and it does no good to try to hinder anyone. All we do is help ourselves by helping others, for we open a door for ourselves. It's like opening the door before you walk though its threshold. Push those ahead of you on, and let them open the door. Pull those behind you up, and help them get through the door. There is always something both can teach the other, as well as those of equal standing can teach the lateral. There is always growth. Grow, grow, grow...

Exercises Part One

4-2 Meditation- Sit down comfortably, and inhale to the count of four, and then hold to the count of two, and then exhale to the count of four, and then hold to the count of 2, repeat. The more you do this meditation, the deeper you get with it each time. It's progressive. Each time you get deeper. Just let it flow. The meditation itself will teach you what to do. Amongst other times it is good to practice this at night before sleep/projection practice.

Relax into sleep with awareness- Relax as you go to sleep, and intend to remain aware as you go to sleep, seeing what happens as you go to sleep. Observe and note everything that happens as you go to sleep, and relax very deeply. Move as needed to remain comfortable. Log the details of the sleep process.

Energy working- Do daily energy working exercises. You can find the NEW system of Robert Bruce on www.astralpulse.com for tips and techniques on energy working.

Anytime relaxation- At any time apart from sleep spend time relaxing as completely as possible, seeking out and releasing every bit of tension in the self, physical, mental, spiritual, etc. Develop the ability to relax completely at will.

Supportive Beliefs-
1 OBE is natural and easy.
2 OBE is simply consciously getting into a deep enough state of sleep.
3 Know that you can OBE, consciously and easily, no ifs, ands, or buts about it... you can. Don't believe you can do it, know you can do it, and know that every one else leaves their body too! You have the natural ability to project, an ability that is there whenever you need it, if you allow yourself have it!!!
4 Be enthusiastic about projection. Really want it. Deeply read about it. Thoroughly practice it. Make practice time your most sought after and joyous time. The more effort that is put into leaving the body the more results that are gotten out of it! The more thought and awareness you put into projection, the faster it will manifest into your reality. My friend Louis said he was obsessed with the out-of-body subject and causing the same. He can now project at will in five minutes or less. He read about it, reading deeply. He knows the Monroe books back to front and back. He practiced meticulously and abundantly. Lucidity_Man on Astral Society's OBE forum says that he exercises his brain all day with thoughts of leaving the body, thinking about what he wants to do when out of his body, how he will get out, what he will do in the instance he is stuck only halfway out, etc. He thinks all day about projection, and goes to bed excited and ready to get out... not to try, but to succeed! "Best part of the day is bed time", he says. Look at that dedication and focus. Look at that immersion. No wonder why he has gotten to the point of having a time distinguishing between waking life and lucid dreams! That's dedication, and mastery, or near to it. Do your really want to get out? Do you really want to master projection? Let your effort be the answer. I used to think my friend Louis was a superhuman, but he is just one who put much time and effort into projection.
5 Have support, at least in the beginning. Support can take many forms. You can get some books you like to read on the subject, and use that to inspire and comfort you. Books were my companions for years. You can join an online forum or online study group. I host one at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CezylGroup/, and another at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nonphysical_exploration/. You can study and build together with a school friend and/or sibling for direct interaction. You can get a chat buddy or phone/pen pal to discuss and practice OBE with. You can join a metaphysical discussion group. What other ways can you think of to support, motivate, and support yourself? Support and mutually inspire, encourage and build.
6 Know that you have experienced out of body exploration before, and several times at that. Have you ever experienced the vibrations, paralysis, the falling sensations, body parts snapping back in, or any other transition state phenomenon? Do you remember any OBEs from childhood? You have experienced it, and you still can. Now you're learning to leave your body at will.
7 It's no big deal. You can do it. Everyone does at it sleep! Don't let the ego or the intellect or fear get in the way. It's no big deal; it's natural and easy. Consciously give yourself permission to succeed. Let it flow. If you don't really want to get out, it is OK. Perhaps you really want to read about it more or whatnot. But if you really want to, really want to. Let your desire work for you. Half-assed attempts get you nowhere. If you are going for it, go for it. If not, sit down until you're ready. Decide either way. Make a firm decision, and then stick to it.
8 Practice to progress.

The Progression
There is a quite definite progression of states when going out of the body and getting back into the body. These states have been discovered to relate to distinct brain wave states. The most common four brain wave states have been called beta (waking), alpha (relaxation), theta (light sleep), and delta (deep sleep). Consciously reaching these different states I call state acquisition.
Consciously reaching theta is reaching the hypnogogic/hypnopompic state. In theta you may experience such things as seeing lights and scenes as if behind your eyelids, vibrations or paralysis, and seeing through your eyelids. This twilight state is generally called hypnagogic when reaching it by going into sleep, and hypnopompic when reaching it by coming out of sleep. Reaching deep theta is enough to get out of the body. In deep theta you can relax and move away from your physical body.
Consciously reaching delta is consciously reaching the OBE state. Delta is OBE. Delta is deep sleep to coma. When you reach delta you are ejected away from your physical body. Louis labeled delta as being at the threshold between living and dying. It's also a state of infinitely abundant healing and rejuvenation. Albert Taylor healed himself of muscular sclerosis through simply out-of-body traveling for instance.
I have divided these four states into different gates of practice. Remember that each gate is passed through each time one goes out of the body, and each time one gets back into the body. That is because these gates relate to the brain wave states, each brain wave state relating to a different state of consciousness as mentioned above. In this way practice can be looked at as a conscious progression through the states, with due attention given to each of the states. Each of the states is an adventure in its own right, and the more attention given to all of them the more easily can be the mastery of delta.

Exercises Part Two
The first four of the core skills of gate one, relaxation, energy working, meditation, and a supportive belief system, have been given earlier. Here we shall add the remaining three, dreaming, awareness, and concentration. Be sure to practice and delve into these seven exercises as often and as deeply as possible.

Dreaming- Practice keeping a detailed dream journal. When you finish sleeping make some dream notes, and make sure to do this consistently each day. Make it a point to remember your dreams. Give your dreams due importance. If you have difficulty remembering your dreams try recalling them as soon as you awaken, before you move even an inch.

Awareness- Practice being aware by not allowing yourself to drift at any time. If you are talking with someone, listen to what they are saying. If you daydream, do so consciously. Know that you are daydreaming, but don't allow yourself to be swept away in thought haphazardly like a ship without sail or rudder. Be consistently aware of all within and without. Be abundantly focused. You are awareness and being...

Century Count Concentration Exercise- Sit comfortably and close your eyes and count to 100. Know that counting to one hundred will only take a certain amount of time, no matter how long or short of a time, for one hundred is a finite number. Therefore allow yourself to put ALL of your attention on only the numbers (and the silence between the numbers), on unerringly and focusedly counting to 100. Practice this at least once per day.

Now you have all seven of the core exercises of the Cezyln system. I believe that anyone can master projection using these seven exercises alone.

Gate 2
·   Trance Meditation (theta)
·   The Morph (Stuart Wilde)

By consistently practicing the core exercises you will begin reaching a point in your meditations, anytime relaxations, and relaxation w/sleep exercises where you start to see flashes, lights, scenes, faces, hear voices, feel vibrations, and/or have some other type of transition state phenomenon occurring. This is the state of theta, the transition state betwixt being in the body and out of the body. You will also start to remember your dreams more and more. You are on your way.
As stated earlier don't have to get all they way to delta to get out of body. When you are in deep theta, at the borderland of theta and delta, you can relax and move and leave your physical body behind. When the transition state phenomenon you are experiencing gets deep and strong, relax and move with the intent to move without the physical body. Here is an exercise to help you with getting out of the body through the theta state using the theta transition state phenomenon:

Transition State Phenomenon Focus: Focus on and encourage the transition state phenomenon you experience. Whether vibrations, imagery, voices, or whatever you experience, focus on it and encourage it; creatively play around with it even. Allow the phenomenon to deepen. As the transitions state phenomenon gets deeper you are getting deeper into theta, which means you are getting closer to delta. At a certain point of deepening you will reach the borderline of theta and delta, and you can then relax and move away from your physical body.

Gate 3
·   Deep Trance (delta)

By continued practice of the core exercises and Gate 2 you will start to naturally and consciously go to and through the hypnagogic state of theta and into delta, and then experience the separation phenomenon of delta. An arm or a leg may jerk, a nonphysical arm or leg may start to float up into the air, or sink into the floor. You may start to spin or lift into the air, or feel yourself being touched or grabbed. Here are some tips to help you through delta:

- Go back, continue, and then move

If an arm sinks or floats up and you snap back into your physical body before taking advantage of it, simply go back to and continue whatever it was you were doing that brought on the separation. This time prepare yourself for the separation and be intent to go with it. Move away from your physical body when you notice the next separation.

- Relax

By relaxing you allow yourself to calm down and make an easier transition from theta through delta. Thus instead of an arm jumping out and startling you, causing you to redock with your physical body just as quickly, an arm may slowly float up into the air, and you will nonchalantly become aware of an arm floating and know that you are free to move away from your physical body. At the point of reaching delta (deep trance) you will automatically move away from your physical body, as if you are being magnetically moved away from it. From the out-of-body state you can practice the second part of Gate 3, here-now travel:

Practice moving around your neighborhood, around the city, around the country, etc. Experiment. Explore. Be sure to have fun. Make games, exercises, and tasks to play and accomplish. Practice heartily and plentifully, and deeply and truly. Keep good journals of what you do, and keep any practice friends or partners posted. Be sure you've consciously given yourself permission to succeed at leaving your body. Address any fears or concerns you may have...

The third and final part of Gate 3 is traveling through time. Gate 4 entails the mastery of traveling into outer space (while staying within this galaxy), and the mastery of traveling out-of-body interdimensionally from here-now to the astral plane, and to and through any areas intervening here-now and the astral. Gate 5 entails traveling outside of this galaxy and beyond, and to planes higher than the astral plane. It may be best to first reach and master of aspect two of gate three, here-now out-of-body travel, before consciously moving onto the latter gates.
Working the Gates
I see three basic ways in which you can work the Gates: laterally, vertically, and by combination of these two.
You can work them laterally. For example, you can spend one week, 30 minutes per day, working on gate one, spending week two working on and exploring gate two, and so on.
You can work the gates vertically, which is to go through all the gates in one sitting. For instance, in each practice session you can take all the time it may take, even if it takes several hours, going through all the gates/states, from beta, through alpha and theta, and concluding in delta. This is eventually how it always is of course, but for the novice it can take a long time to get out from scratch in one sitting. It can take a lot of time at first, but it doesn't have to. It may be quick and easy for you. Experiment and explore. Focus on the outcome desired.
And you can work in various blends of combinations of lateral and vertical.
Essentially all three ways are gradual and progressive, and thus all three ways take patience and practice. Remember to continuously practice the basics to build a solid foundation of strength. I believe you learn the intricacies of the art through practice. I wish you the best.

Where to Go from Here, or
Projection Sequence to Getting Out
Generally you can do what I call a projection sequence to get out, where you form the exercises into a sequence that progressively gets you deeper. You can find examples of this all throughout this book. Here is a sample sequence, the one used in the Arms Through the Floor experience on page 88 of Travel Far and at http://www.cezyl.com/OBEs/armsfloor.htm:

1- Sit down and meditate 4-2 until entranced
2- Remain sitting and do energy work
3- Lie down and do relaxation into sleep with awareness until at transition
4- Focus on, play with, and move the transition phenomenon
5- When deep enough relax and move away from your physical body

The projection sequence has really helped me. Any other techniques you find or create you can add into the mix, or switch around in the sequence, etc. Be sure to adlib, add, or subtract as needed. The path is ultimately unique and individual. By studying Travel Far you can learn of the essence of projection and of many different techniques with direct examples of their use, such as focusing on your heartbeat, imagining pulling a rope, visualizing walking around your home, and mentally counting from 50 to 1 repeatedly. Experiment. Explore. If you want or need a wider variety of experiences and technique to study and practice there are many paper and online resources available. The bibliography of this book is a great way to start. As you can see I did much reading to get to this point. Whatever techniques you decide upon, I believe that the techniques and approaches in this book can help to at least form a solid foundation for success.
Remember while working with the nonphysical aspect of yourself (out-of-body work) to keep a rounded practice by working on your consciousness (spiritual growth, shadow work) and working on your physical body (martial arts, exercise, sexual energy work, right living), and other areas of the nonphysical aspect like chakra development and psychic ability. The online article by Lyssa Royal entitled Fourth-Density Relationships, the book Personal Power through Awareness by Sanaya Roman and Orin, and the interview Stuart Wilde gave on the Shadow, available online from News for the Soul, are absolutely invaluable to my spiritual growth. I do bike riding for exercise. Use your intuition. Allow your inner self, higher selves, guides, and the all that is to guide you. Add or subtract where necessary for you. Stay in the moment. Be creative. Explore.
This book is complete as a stand-alone work. I don't have all the answers, and I've yet to find any researcher, author, or teacher of information who does- though I've ran into those that claim to. Seek to parallel and surpass the experience, knowledge, and skill level represented in this work. This is BOOK I, Travel Far. You can expect BOOK II, Travel Farther, in 2005. The Essence Behind the Essence
I've said that the above is the essence behind projection, and it is, for me. It may be for you also. The essence behind this essence is that with projection, as with anyone else, it is as easy as you make it. As a kid I used to just do it, but of course I didn't know you had to relax first, and do all these things. Of course after I learned you must do these things, not doing them became detrimental to my success rate. David Icke in a News for the Soul interview said that he went to the rain forest to imbibe a tropical plant known to cause mind-blowing experiences. During his experience the being teaching him asked him what brought him there, was it the drug taken. David answered yes, for he did take the drug. The being told him the drug did nothing, and that it was his belief in the drug that got him there. David went on to say how a group of people were told they were being given LSD as a part of a study. Half were given LSD and half were given a placebo, be it water or some other plain substance. Some of those given the placebo had trips as strong or stronger than those given actual LSD. I read in The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot of a guy who was given a placebo, thinking it was a super drug, and was 'cured' from a cancer that had consumed his entire body. Upon the man learning that the drug was only a placebo the entire condition came back and within days he died. It was he who healed, and harmed, himself.
Dr. Bruce Goldberg in his book Astral Voyages states that any technique or method will work, if you believe it will. I agree. The projection sequence, and the breakdown of the brain waves, all of the structure and sustenance here, it satisfies my beliefs about what projection is and what it takes to work, and thus by doing all these things I hypnotize myself into allowing myself out of body. In essence I'm creating a lock, putting the lock on the door, and then unlocking the lock with the key I made as a companion to the lock. It works for me. Thus again, add and subtract as needed. If you believe it will work, it will. Perhaps you can just will yourself out and that's it. J I've done it before.

Week 1:
Sunday June 20, 2004 thru Saturday June, 26, 2004

This first week of group effort we shall do the two relaxations, concentration, and 4-2 meditation. Consult the book Travel Far and/or the CezylGroup tutorials for the how-to and details to these and other exercises. Of course do your best to do all of the core exercises each day, yet focus on these three. This focus should get the gears turning. If you do nothing else, do at least the two relaxations, concentration, and 4-2 meditation, with this weekly schedule and group effort in mind. Do them as frequently and surely as possible. Remember: Intent, desire, awareness, attention, and intent!
The goal is to project within the next thirty days. The goal is to have a conscious fully controlled out-of-body experience by Friday, July 23, 2004. Decide now.
