Robert Bruce makes it sound (to me anyways) as if projections should only last 30 seconds to a minute or so. I haven't purchased his products but, on his youtube videos, he states that any projection over 30 seconds is usually forgotten is this true? What if the projector has great desire and will to remember and to have 2-3 hour travels? It kind of through me off a little.

Also when intentionally astral projecting, it's the conscious mind that joins the astral body as oppose to the unconscious mind, is that correct?

And finally when finally in the astral body do all those noises, and vibrations stop immediately?

Thank you all for your answers, you've tremendously helped me out so far and I'm sincerely grateful.

I advise you to read ap books for fun and not to take things too seriously.  Authors of ap books are just beginners like us.  They do not know everything.  The best way of finding out are from your own experiences.  A good way to remember things is to repeat things that you see a few times when you are out of your body.  It helps you to remember things.  That is what I learnt.  You have to find what works best for you.  I think it is a shame to stay out of your body for a short time.  You work hard to get there and then it ends.  Just my opinion.
I am not sure what you mean by the next question.  When I ap I am aware of what is happening, if that is what you mean.
When I ap I do not hear any noises or vibrations.  It has stopped happening.

What the hell is he saying stuff like that for? jeez.

It's rubbish. My first one probably lasted about 5 minutes... I have had others that lasted much longer. Remembering them is often like remembering what you just did.

You can really only learn from what you do yourself not what others tell you. :)

"Also when intentionally astral projecting, it's the conscious mind that joins the astral body as oppose to the unconscious mind, is that correct?"

Maybe.. or maybe it your focused attention turning to your nonphysical... there is no joining or movement. It's like daydreaming.. your mind doesn't join anything... it just turns inwards.

Yes.. the noises go. Sometimes there are noises but the SP noises stop.

Possibly he said this for a couple of reasons.

The first being, you are delving into something spectacular that is completely foreign to your current way of thinking reality really is. For this reason sometimes it's better to "just put a toe into the water and check the temperature."

Another reason he doesn't wish you to stay with the scene and drift off to sleep. This would cause you to lose full recall of what just happened.

I could see him warning people that are new to this practice. It makes perfect sense to me.

But after you have some experience under your belt, stay with it as long as you wish.

In one entire night's adventure, I lived what seemed like a entire life time. I awoke for real 3 or 4 times during the night, but then when I went back to sleep again, I found myself fully Lucid/Consciously Aware of my surroundings and circumstances. Although, each time I had gone back into the Dream, I found that I had aged quite a bit.

There is no reason why you need to keep your projections short. There are a couple of advantages but they aren't great. Your first couple of projections can benefit you by keeping them short because a.) you will remember the little differences in how you felt from the unsuccessful attempts, and b.) it is always possible to forget the experience if you don't wake yourself back up to remember it fully. This is because you will hit the deeper sleep stages and end up thinking of it as a "regular" dream. Remembering the experience and knowing that it's real will help you the next time because your belief is stronger.

Other than that, I can't see why you would want to "waste" all that time and dedication just to spend a few seconds floating above your bed.

I believe Robert Bruce is very knowledgeable and has some great insights. But....and this is a big BUT, in my opinion, I think he is teaching beliefs that he doesn't actually believe himself. He is making a living through his abilities and he uses fear generated through his proclamations of the objective existence of negative entities that he just refers to as "negs". He will sell you all kinds of techniques and things to help you to ward them off. This type of fear mongering is always a big indicator of where a person's true intentions are. This is as dishonest as a person can get IMO.

My advice to you is get what you can from him for free and dismiss the negative junk.

You shouldn't be concerned at all right now about whether or not we actually leave our bodies or any of that. It takes years for each of us to reach our own conclusions on this and many experienced projectors still do not agree on this. One thing we all agree on is that it's not really important anyhow.

Good luck.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.
