hi gexx, seems like you fit into the same catagory of a lot of people here. i also have gotten close while trying but have projected after falling asleep when i get close to projecting. i think it may have something to do with my fears. did you read astral dynamics? seems like most of the techniques are working, maybe the more we try the more success we will have.what have your projections been like when you did obe- real time or astral, did you have clear vision ect.? maybe there is some clue that you can use to project conciously.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

The last time I projected was not in real time, because my house was slightly different than it usually is.  I projected from a lucid dream.  I also know that I have projected in real time as well.  My projections are fuzzy, and as the day goes on I lose most signifigant details.  My experiences quickly fade from my memory.

I am not a veteran projector but i kind of fade in and out of practicing it and meditating. Some advice i can offer you is to better understand the NEW system(Search the site for it if you haven't read it). If you can remember a feeling precisely, you will feel a TEENSY bit of energy tention in an area such as an arm or leg. A prime example is remember the feeling of throwing a punch. Remember the feeling of the tensed muscles. You may not understand at first, but you will in time. I have only projected twice, but I do know what im talking about. I highly reccomend you avoid music too.
That would really mess up your ability to project. If you haven't got music with you when a good time to project presents itself, then you are basically screwed. Best way to put it... Good luck

Hi !

I don't really have a method;  often I have the vibrations when I slowly wake up (when I sleep in the afternoon)

I think that if you think a lot about OBE, if you read about that very often and you have these ideas very much in your head, it can be easier to have an OBE experience, because all your body is accepting this reality.

This is my theory :o)

Hope you'll understand my bad french-english !

Hi Gexx and everyone,

I'm in the same category- I often become aware of being 'out' after falling asleep and during spells where I am consciously trying. If I am lucky, I will become conscious during the exit, or become conscious when exit is possible, and will feel the exit procedure. That's kind of a rush, and I always figured the reason I couldn't exit from waking consciousness is because I do not trance deeply enough from wakefulness.

Sometimes when I am away from altered consciousness for a while, I will feel instinctively that 'all systems are go' and will attempt it that night - often with success.

It seems like there are two schools of thought. One is that these things will happen when they happen and you are better off letting it go for a while. the other is that the more you practice, the better you become.

I have been trying daily faithfully for the last three or four weeks with two mild early experiences (one verified), but the last week really have felt very little when raising energy etc. So I don't know if I am pushing things too hard. (nice to have a forum where people can relate.) But I am going to stick with it this time and give it a solid three months before deciding that there is anything to the idea of letting it happen when it happens.  I think like any biological system, the more you use it the stronger it becomes.

My biggest piece of advice as far as success goes - Fervent desire. Are you half hearted about it? Do you kinda want this, or do you really need this down to your soul's core?  I believe that the more you want this, the better your chances are. You will go into it more forcefully, bring more intent, more determination and you won't let something trivial like distracting thoughts sway you from the experience. So if you are not fully desirous of the experience that you are seeking, you might want to fan the flames of whatever desire you do have.  Really stoke it.

That's when I have the best luck.

(Clarine, your english is fine.  And I had a nice vibration - buzz when I woke slowly this morning, too!)

I have been trying astral projection for awhile now, and I have a few questions.  I have projected before, but never on purpose.  It is usually the night after I have unsuccsesfully tried to do so.  I often feel my chakra awakening and the intense vibrations associated with it, but I can't progerss past that point.  So here are my questions.  First, what methods did you use when you first began projecting that gave you success?  Please describe those.  Secondly, when I take a break(more than a week), or I try a new method, I usually get closer to an OBE than if I try to get one every night.  Why is this?  Oh yeah, I'm new as well, so hellos everyone.
