No thunderstorms in the astral planes? Really?

I find it humorous that I have read on several astral projection sites that thunderstorms don't exist in the astral planes. Although I have never seen a thunderstorm in the astral plane during the last 3 weeks of projecting, I highly doubt their non-existance.

When I think back to 1992 when I living in Tennessee USA, I remember a canoeing trip I was on with my younger brother and one of our mutual friends. We had been out canoeing for several hours and we were about 2 hours of away from being back to where we started when we noticed a thunderstorm quickly appoaching.

We were on a body of water in Hamilton County Tennessee called wolftever creek, which extends for 100s of miles across the state. From our vantage point there was a 5 mile channel we had to paddle across to get back to the dock. There was a group of small islands off to the right of us about a quarter of a mile away that would provide us with shelter while the storm ran it's course. We didn't want to risk crossing the channel with the danger of lightening striking the metal canoe so was elected to dock on one of the islands and wait it out.

We drug the canoe up on shore and then quickly made our way halfway up a small ridge on the island and took shelter under a group of small trees. In front of us was an opening in the trees and we could clearly see out over that 5 mile channel of water. Off in the distance the storm clouds moved across the water with sheets of rain pouring out of them hitting the lake below. We could here the gentle rolls of thunder echoing across the water.

There was something about the sound of the rain hitting the leaves above and then the solitude of the island that instantly put my mind at ease. I felt all of my stress and worries just fade away and a sense of peace and serenity melted though my body. I felt the energy around me penetrate my body and at that moment I felt totally at one with nature. Looking back on this moment I realize that it was one of the most peaceful moments in my entire life.

We waited there under the trees for about an hour and then canoed back.

I sincerely hope that there are indeed thunderstorms in the astral plane as it has to be one of the most relaxing things in nature that I have ever found.

I guess my point is, it just seemed odd that someone would make such a blanket statement as "Thunderstorms don't exist in the astral plane". It continues to be my obsevation that thoughts become reality and imagination is the only limit.

FYI: The images in the links above are actual images of the channel and the island we were on. The view of the island is taken from the channel facing the island and the channel image is from a bridge that crosses the channel. From the bridge view the islands would be about 4 miles off to the left of the photo out of view.

Well ive looked/flown in the sky many many many many times in the astral and I cant say I have ever experienced thunderstorms either. I believe ONCE there was some sort of sensation like it was raining but it felt more like an electrical pulse than water...

I haven't seen a thunderstorm in a dream or an AP. I wonder if you can still make one in a lucid dream...

I agree.

In my shamanic training, nature is a big part of the astral journeys, including thunderstorms. I think we are only limited by expectations.

thunderstorms do exist in the astral - i have been in tornado's, grey wispy smoked clouds, rain, hail, lightning, thunder.. you name it.

the coolest part about rain is feeling it pelt through your energy body.. just a incredible experience..

Things are going good so far.. 2008 was a rollercoaster ride with my mom passing away and my wife/I becoming parents to three children through the foster care system.

I actually feared that my OBEs would diminish with having kids, well I was wrong and they have blossemed. A lot of the dedication is routine and systematic putting it into everyday. So this is why after so many years it has become second nature..

There is Definitely thunderstorms in the Astral plane. It's strange this is being mentioned but alot of times i've projected, it is raining in the astral plane even tho it hasn't been raining in the 'real world', then it often stops to leave a glistening ground. Once i got myself out of the astral state to get away from a thunderstorm, it was getting too heavy, all very blurry now but i could remember conciously making the decision of wanting to leave, it was a very strange sensation.

I didn't read the other threads so I don't know the nuance they meant. If you told me that a thunderstorm around me in the waking world did not exist on the astral plane, could be, I don't know. If you said there is never any thunderstorms where I go to when I go out, well i would say most likely you can create thunderstorms with your thoughts in some places I go and weather phenomenon mostly likely exist in other realities that can be visited when OOB. Certainly it is possible to create the feeling of water on your skin when lucid dreaming or some such and it can feel even nicer that it does in waking life.

I have seen a monster tornado with a thunder in my dream. As it was coming, that part of the sky was deep blue-black with a lot of rain and lightning in a giant vortex, while the other part was cloudless. I took my camera to film the tornado, and as it was coming closer and closer, I told my family to leave without me, I wanted to film it whatever was going to happen

. Then it turned away and did no damage.

A few days later, in the news, I heard that some (smallish) tornadoes occured our country, an extremely rare occurence here.
