Was this a OBE or a dream?

Hi all, after waking up this morning I fell back asleep. I remember I was dreaming and then I was lieing down on my bed, then everything went black. For some reason I focused on the ringing in my ears and they got extremely intense. I started feeling intense vibrations throughout my whole body. I saw weird patterns of white light before my eyes. After a while I felt my body rise ( exept for my upper chest and head). When I tried getting out I thought to myself "is this a dream?" for some reason, then i was completely conscious and back in my physical body. This seemed incredibly real.

What I'm wondering is do you guys think this was a close attempt at an OBE or a dream?

First, a dream IS an obe.  :)

Secondly, you were on the verge of an obe, yes.  If you kept going without the commentary and stayed calm, then you would have definitely have been out.  :)

Keep up the good work!

I'd say you were almost there. Like Xanth said, stay calm and just go with the flow; follow whatever sensations you're experiencing.

From what I've read of others experiences, as well as my own, it's completely normal at this early stage to have a little difficulty fully separating; most get stuck at the hips, chest or neck. Why this is so, I don't know. Maybe it has to do with needing more 'energy', but imo it has more to do with either giving yourself final permission to separate or overcoming that last little bit of fear (even an unrecognised fear).

I had spontaneous projections for years with no issues, but a few years ago, when taking up conscious obe projection attempts after a long layoff, it was like starting all over again. I had several partial separations where I was stuck at the chest and finally one where I was stuck at the neck, with my etheric? body rotated 90 degrees above my physical. It was very frustrating and also somewhat ludicrous to be stuck in that position. I finally swung back down and then up as hard as I could, snapped out thinking my head might pop off and tumbled through the wall of my house and into some other dimension.
Exits got better after that. :-D

Thanks for the replys guys! Yeah now i believe that this was a close OBE. Now that i remember the experience a little more i remember starting to see glimpses of my bedroom with my eyes closed. I felt the lower part of my body rise up into the air. Why did i have to mess it up for myself lol :(. Oh well i guess ill keep trying :)

Oh, and another thing. The vibrations i felt this morning were much more different than the ones i feel while meditating at night. It's hard to explain, but i guess the vibrations i experience at night are "dull" and feel just so "empty." The vibrations this morning were on a whole new level. I felt like there were tons of energy flowing through my body. I think that what i felt is what i will feel during a full OBE. Now i know what to expect ^_^

Full strength vibrations are pretty cool, aren't they?

They will disappear just as soon as you fully separate.

Good luck!

Why bother getting stuck?  :)
I say by-pass that little annoyance and phase directly into the non-physical (aka: Astral).  With a bit of practice, from there you can phase back to the RTZ have have a regular RTZ-obe without bothering with the separation part.  ;)

This is where, I feel, the superiority of Phasing over Classic Separation OBEs comes into play.
