The Mind-Split Effect

I had this the mind-split effect once before reading about it. It happened because I wanted to travel to a very distant place right away, I mean not flying over trees and mountains. I wanted to be there instantly- I was in Europe and wanted to go to visit my boyfriend in the US. So I wished for it and saw him but kind of fell in the black hole as they call it. It became blurry and was very quick. I read later about it and found out that to avoid the black hole you must say before wanting to go that you will be fully conscious once you reach the desired place and everything will be clear. This is supposed to prevent you from falling in this black hole []

I`m pretty sure I continued the previous dream, but I have no memory of how I got `out` of body or whether there was such an event. I do remember being fully lucid by the time I stared up in the sky, while aware of the dogs with me in bed...

Mind-split effects???

Hey all.

I've been really reading Astral Dynamics and Matrix 5, and Psychic Vampires (Joe Slate) closely, and I see several interesting things that I didn't see before with my ego in the way. For one, Robert Bruce discovered the mind-split thing by accident. He says on page 48:

I discovered the mind-split effect by sheer accident, during an extremely powerful projection, as told below. Subsequent experiments with the mind-split effect, sparked by this initial discovery, have since verified my original hypothesis.

This gives credence to the mind-spit effect not being some conjectured thing, but a solid reality. I remember an experience in which I was practicing projection, and had the vibrations, etc., and then the entire thing ended flat. I thought it was over and decided to lie there and enjoy my failure. But I also have a memory of going through the bedroom wall and into the living room, and then floating in the living room and seeing Janet go to the kitchen.

Do any of you have mind-split experiences, or experience BEFORE knowing about his mind-split theory, that substantiate the theory. I had that experience AFTER reading about it, and using his techniques. Could the specific techniques used cause such things to happen? Long time projector Robert Monroe never mentions such a thing, but got 'out' differently, mostly by what I call 'state-acquisition', directly acquiring different states. Or is it just that he didn't observe or stumble upon observing the process by having an awake and aware consciousness in both bodies? Perhaps because he only got out-of-body from direct sleep, never really did long and deep meditations like Bruce does.
