So what happens after the vibrations?

I often hear, mostly from the Lucidology videos on YouTube, that you aren't supposed to leave your body until after the vibrations subdue. Since I have never projected yet (I've only been able to enter sleep paralysis), it's been bothering me to wonder exactly happens after the vibrations then? Are you able to see your surroundings by this point or is everything still white? How can you tell you're ready and not just laying still like when you started?

Before... during... after...
Hell, you might not even get/feel the vibrations.

Just wait until you're in the trance state and go from there.

One thing that I experience when attempting to OBE or AP that seems to be left out a lot is that's it's a change in consciousness. For me, I feel a definite shift in perception when my awareness moves from physical to non-physical. When I shift, I know I'm either ready or it'll be soon. I don't feel like I'm physically lying in bed as I was before, it's different.

I was wondering the same exact thing, since I'm usually too afraid to get through the vibrations. That might sound dumb, but my heart rate pretty much skyrockets and I get really nervous   I always open my eyes before I get anywhere else.

Some people do not have any vibrations at all -- including me and i've had several hundred OBE's. Dont let vibrations be your necessary guidepost. I've also felt some type of connection to my physical heartbeat while out of body as well. The best thing I can say is to let the feeling wash over you..It's very easy to get excited and lose the possibility of exiting the body but in time with patience you can learn to control your excitement.
I wandered slowly there
I saw a field where a thousand corpses lie
Angels sang the hymn of the end
About monsters which they fought
Over our world

Lately the biggest thing I feel is a change in my perception of time and temperature. I have been practicing a form or remote viewing / astral projection where your consciousness travels out of body but you are still aware of your physical surroundings. Sometimes I will get very cold, I will look up at the thermometer and it will say 77 degrees. I think this happens because my energy body is not in my physical body any longer and can't produce heat. Also, my perception of time changes because time is much different on the astral planes than in our physical dimension. Sometimes 10 minutes will go by while I'm out of body and it will feel like over an hour has gone by... very strange stuff.

I have little personal experience but once i was just let the vibrations pass and after i was back to normal :( I think letting the vibrations go for maybe 5 sec then try to leave will be good.

Don't listen to everything the Lucidology-guy says. He is saying much because he gets money from it and with LD and AP, everyone is different. What worked for him may not work for you. So when he says "this is wrong" or "this does not work", it means it didn't work for him. All the books with techniques he said he read obviously worked for the person that wrote them, but he says they are wrong.
First and only (classic) OBE so far: 12th August 2009
LDs: Once per week :)

Yeh, you can notice when your awareness moves from physical to nonphysical when your meditating, or going into a deep trance before projection.

When I hit the trance state... to me, it kinda feels like moving through a veil.
Like something is passing through me.  I get all vibrational... and that feeling whooshes over me until I'm through and am mind awake/body asleep.

First of all, please don't hold any hard expectations on this. Vibes may not occur for everyone or everytime.
If they come, they are sure sign of disconnecting from the physical body. As others have said, after they become smooth and finally vanish, you will feel different, as if not in this world and light as a feather.

If they come and go, and you feel ordinary, like, the body is heavy and you can feel the breath and heartbeat, then you need to relax once again. The projection was aborted due to some reason in this case.

If they don't come and you still feel a 'shift' and lightness, you are already out....
