Ephemera

I used to have experiences as a child where I knew (without thinking about how) that sometimes when I went to bed at night I could have awesome dreams that I understood, I think, weren't quite dreams. I would really look forward to them. Only realised in the last few years that they could well have been projections.

In the "dreams" I would follow a similar routine where I climb out of bed, out of my 2nd storey bedroom window, scale the wall around the corner onto the garage roof which was on an adjoining wall, and just jump off.
I would go bouncing and drifting all over my backyard, jumping off things. Sometimes I would go to my school, which was always empty, and do the same thing. It never occurred to me to try and go anywhere else because these places were the majority of my world, and I was never an outgoing kid. I remember particularly when visiting the school there was a greyish light illuminating the scenery. The jumping/drifting sensation is something I can remember today. Wasn't quite flying, but I would take a run and feel that I very much wanted to be floating, and end up doing fun slow motion running-jumps that went quite high, and then after a while touch down to earth and do it all over again.  :-D

I don't remember ever meeting anyone/anything else on these outings.

I remember looking out my bedroom window in waking life and trying to work out how it was possible because it was all so vivid.

These experiences would have stopped well before I was 10, but unsure when. I have accumulated too much fear and negative programming during the years that followed, and I think I was protected from consciously projecting (if that's what it was) during this time.
Don't remember paralysis, vibrations, faces appearing, hearing voices or anything like that at any part of the process.

Not a question, just an offering of an experience. I don't know if this forum's purpose is about posting exeriences so I have tried to refrain from doing so..

Hi Ephemera

I had similar dreams as a child and I always "knew" they were different in some way. Usually I would stay in my house and float around. Often in these dreams there would be a grey misty quality to them, and sometimes it was difficult to move. Also whenever I tried to turn a light on it would never actually come on. The best I could get was a faint glow from whatever light I was trying to turn on.  I realised the significance of these dreams, at the age of about 15 when I had my first self-induced OBE, I was in my house and tried to turn a light on. I could feel the light switch but the light didn't come on.

Hi,
You've hit a good point here and I'm sure many of us have had these experiences.
I can remember things that happened when I was six through nine years old from many vivid dreams to those that in no way were dreams.I know now that I was out with a guide.
Its funny how a question as yours brings back memories from so long ago.

I'll second the light switch not working. You describe it exactly as I had it.

My house was kind of strict when I grew up. My father would be up at 4am for work every day. So he'd be to bed early and we had to be mega quiet and not turn any lights on. My parents house had glass panels above the doors for some reason. So turning any light on would disturb him. He was an incredibly light sleeper!
So it was quite normal to have to walk down the stairs in the dark, to then get to the bottom, into the living room before being able to turn a light on.

I would dream about this scenario a lot. Except im alone, and there is something coming after me. Something scarey. I'd dash to the bottom of the stairs and go to hit the light but it wouldnt work. I'd then force myself awake.

I'm intrigued by this light switch phenomenon. Has anybody else had this, ie you try to switch on a light, but it refuses to come on?

I can remember vividly at six years old being ill and waited at the top of the stairs behind the gate for my mother to come. during this wait it went dark and I looked up at the switch and wanted it to turn on. I was scared of the dark and then I saw a triangle of blue white light appear below the switch. It then grew in size and shrank back making a shrill tearing noise. it did this five times. The next thing my mum picked me up, I was hysterical and said the light was never off. I still remember that event nearly fifty years later.
Not nice at all.

It happend to me twice, once I got up out of bed and hit the light on, but nothing came on, I then woke up.
Another time I got out of bed to get some kool-aid in the middle of the night. I hit the stairway light and nothing comes on. I walk downstairs only to sense an evil presence, I dash up stairs into the bathroom, the light in there wouldn't turn on! I cracked open the door only to see the shadow thing crawling up stairs. I said you can't hurt me, this is a dream! It disappeared and i woke up. lol.
So close but so far to projecting. It'll come one day, i'll just have to wait.
