Faceless Shadow Men Walking Around...

That's happened to me too - a number of years ago I had an experience where I "woke up," thought I WAS awake, heard a door opening and shutting, heard footsteps come up the stairs, and saw a large black solid "shadow" of a man enter my room and stop at the end of my bed.  Through the whole thing I couldn't move, couldn't scream - it was utterly terrifying because I thought there was an intruder in my house and I was going to be raped and murdered. I hadn't come across any information about sleep paralysis or hypnopompic imagery, old hag experiences, or anything like that at the time.  The whole thing scared the hell out of me (understatement). And, even given the idea of  hypnopompic imagery, or what-have-you, I'm just not convinced that that is really all there is to it. Seeing shadow men is a fairly common occurance though from what I've read and heard of people's experience, so you're certainly not alone.  Also, I've never experienced or read of anyone actually being hurt or truly physically threatened by shadow men...  so far the descriptions I've come across have been more in line with they're just present (in the room, in the near vicinity).

I've only seen them the two times, when I was 17 and 18.
They didn't hurt me or anything, like you said, but I really got
the feeling of dread when they appeared. Would like to know what
their purpose is, if any. I'm 37 now and haven't seen one since.

Next time that happens, get some courage and try to communicate... If I could project, I would try to communicate... Its not like theyll kill you or anything... You could just return if something starts to come up...

in her life there are times when she's around people and she is ignorant about their face...but she talks to them....
I've seen man disappearing half infront of my eyes while talking...

I've read your posts on creepy characters that you see hanging around. But no one mentions the shadow men.
Once when I awoke in the paralyzed state, as I was looking around trying to move, a regular size man wearing a hat and coat came into my room through the wall. He was completely dark like a shadow, where his face should of been there was none. He glided across the room and out the other wall.
Another time I awoke at the ceiling,(spontaneous) excitedly I hurried myself to the window and out I went up to the top of the house. I was looking at a tree noticing how brilliant the leaves were. When I got this feeling to look down, There they were, this time three of them. Walking down the sidewalk towards me. It made me get back to my body. I was worried of them.  
Are these just my own interpretation of creepies? Or are they some type of astral gangsters?
