Title: trouble breathing
Post by: sashamasha on February 12, 2005, 07:12:57
This morning I went though a series of pre-OBE periods, maybe 5 times, heavy vibrations, falling, and a few other symptoms I get in association, and finally wound up someplace inbetween lucid and OBE and continued to try to get OB from there, with help from my sister, who was in the dream with me.  She brought us to a weird stepping-off place for OBE, a very urban rooftop, and not pretty.  All of a sudden I realised that I was having trouble breathing, and I kept telling myself to just relax and I would be fine, but I knew this was actually a physical issue and that my physical body was having trouble.  This went on for at least 10 minutes, based on the number of breaths.  I was completely lucid from start to finish and knew exactly where my body was and what I was doing, and that I was "asleep."  I continued attemtping to travel, and finally knew I would have to give up and roll over because I just wasn't getting air comfortably.  I decided to wake up, so I woke up, rolled over, and was fine, felt air rush into my lungs, but it bugged me so much that I decided to get up.  Anyone ever experienced this?  It really freaked me out.

Edited to add that I have never had this syptom before, and that I also jumped into a body of water to try to ease it.  I was no panicking at all, I was disappointed that I was going to have to let myself wake up and roll over.  I do not have sleep apnea nor do I snore... I just don't understand what caused this.  I am having some trouble catching my breath now.

No no no, why are you thinking that way? Didn't Swarooptheone just say that it's normal? It is normal- very typical. With practice, you'll get over it.

Because I have been doing AP, mostly spontaneously, all my life!!!  I'm not new to it.
