Hello,

Well, I've been trying to have my first OOBE and I've had a handful of recommendations, yet I've only gotten so close only to not be able to quite get there. I have not ate meat, nor chocolate nor drunk alcohol for more than a week because this was suppose to help, and it has gotten me closer, yet not the point I want it to.

When I'm going to go to bed, I lie on my back and start to calm every part of my body, soon after my body starts to get hot from the inside as well as a paralysis seems to take over. Then a high pitch noise comes about in my ears, and an itchy feeling also comes. I try to visualize another body beside me and to transfer the consciousness to that body. Then, I try to open my eyes and nothing happens. I see blurry for a second but that's about it. I find it hard to visualize my consciousness into the other body.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Or what I could do to succeed?

Thank you for your comments in advance,

ToMokai

Who told you this? Someone's been telling you bovine excrement. I eat chocolate, and meat and have the occasional drink and still manage to leave my body. Your ability to leave your body depends on your state of mind, your determination, and your intent, not what you had for tea! Believing this kind of thing will hinder your progress because it will limit what you believe is possible. In fact, if alcohol helps you to relax, it may even help you.

My advice to you would be to not open your eyes and have a little more patience. You may be waiting for two hours before you leave. And when you do leave you will seriously know you have so there's no point opening your eyes to see if you're somewhere else.

Nice response Dingo.  I agree.

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

How long have you been trying?

Sova114

Well I wouldn't get too drunk... or else you'll just fall asleep :)

Well, I've been trying for about a year now, but these results have only appear since I started the diet. The diet is looking at OOBE from a yoga point of view, and it has helped me.

I've read here and there that high protein (meat) meals get in the way of OBE at first, but once you have succeeded then you can  go back to your normal diet.  I guess my next series of questions are:
Have you ever spontaneously OBE'd?
Are you and accomplished meditator?
Are you a light sleeper?
Do you have Lucid Dreams?
There are many techniques for projecting in many ways: phasing, getting out of body, going OBE out of LDs- so you may not be using the technique that is right for you.
I do have to say that OBE is like many things in life- once you stop caring if it happens, POW! There it is.
Lots of luck,   CF.

If it helps then keep doing it - but be aware it might be having a kind of placebo-effect.. How long have you been trying?

Yeah, it might be a placebo-effect, but nothing else has worked :S So, might as well keep it going :P I've tried it for a week and a half now.

That wasn't me, but from the answers to your questions, I would suggest continuing the phasing techniques,
And I forgot the question:  Are you practicing at the same time of the day, morning or night?

Sorry ...

Yep, everytime before I got to sleep.

And, I'm not familiar with phasing, could you explain how I could try that?

Thanks a lot for all the input!

And also, try getting up like 3 hours earlier than usual in the morning (try once and see what happens) sit in a recliner, comfortably and see what happens...

Thanks a lot for all your help!

placebo effects are awesome until they stop working... I have used them to my advantage by tricking my subconsious for a short time into believing certain things will work, be it methods, diets, etc.  Since you are a skilled meditator I would meditate but focus on the blackness behind your eyes, this activity is called Noticing, and before you know it you will start to see little blobs and things and maybe some images, keep it up and get back to us!  Dont give up.
