Twitch and spit....

The heavy energy sensations you described are part of the process and you must learn to ignore them.  Just concentrate on leaving your body, and completely block out all rapid-eye-movement (REM) and or muscle spams, twitchs, etc.  The more you project, the lesser these symtoms will be.  From what I've read, the reason they're so heavily felt is due to closed/blocked energy passage-ways in your etheric body.  These must opened up in order for your energy centers (chakras) to pump out enough energy for a projectable double.  This is why it is wise to perform energy raising techniques prior to projection attempts.  As it is especially helpful for novices.

As far as the salivation goes, I really can't help you there.  Perhaps laying on your back with your head turned towards the side will help.

Hi Omnigod0101,

The only thing I can add is that in time these annoyances seem to smooth themselves out. That has been not only my experience but what others have posted previously as well.

Try experimenting with different positions to see if anything improves your situation. When you get to the mind-awake/body-asleep state you really don't want to be aware of bodily sensations. Give it all a bit more time though, and I am sure these bothersome things will go away.

You may also want to use our seach engine at the top of the page to track down some previous posts and replies in the area you ask about. Perhaps someone has posted an answer previously that may be just what might help.

For your saliva problem, one way to get rid of it would be to pinch your nose...  Each time I got a cold and my nose is "stuck", I have to breath through the mouth and that makes it completely dry...

I also had the REM thing with the eyes... and, as Nick said, it went away...

The REM is the normal dreaming phase in the sleep, so that it is just perfect you are just right on taget! The twitch belongs to the same phase too.

As to the saliva, I got the same thing. And when I have a cold I even have apnea because of it. I can wake up in the middle of the night gapsing for air and the only solution is to sit up and then I just gasp loudly AAAAAHHHHHH to a fresh breath of O2.... The only way to avoid that for me is to lay on my tomy rather than on my back. And if I lay on my back I need to have my chin up to open up the airway in my throat.

Good luck!

Shaman, since you mentioned it...

I too have a problem with sleeping on my back. However it think my problem is far more serious.
For some reason if I accidentaly fall asleep while lying on my back during the night, I start choking. I usually have a kind of a nightmare at that moment (drowning for instance) and when I wake up I end up in sleep paralysis, which makes it even harder to take a breath. After I finally regain control of my body and gasp for air, I am so stressed that I cant sleep anymore.

I was just curious if anyone else had these problems and if they seemed to hurt them in any way during their practices?

Basically my first and most common problem, I salivate...a lot...(Yea I'm one of those guys who is 19 and still drooling on the pillow) and while in trance or meditation I still salivate (I may stop for 20 minutes but it eventually kicks in) and if I don't gulp ([xx(]) then I'll potentially choke or even drown (Boy would that be a news headline). I've gotten pretty decent at doing this without interrupting my trance but I was just curious if I was alone [:I]

My other, slightly more devistating, however less common problem is eye twitches. I can literally feel myself getting closer and closer to having my first successful OBE. I can now feel very strongly my arms and legs moving and have felt my body raise and lower, but right when things start getting a little rough my eyes begin to twich at very rapid rates and occasionally because of this spring partially open. Its very frustrating and kills the momentum I get going and basically every step forward ends two steps back. Anybody else out there have this problem or know a good tip to solving it?
(NOTE: My entire body has quite a few unconcious twitch fluctuations especially while doing energy practices. Sometimes my hand can be laying palm down and it will twitch and land palm up.)
