Understanding the confusion between OBE and Dreams

I think I finally understand why so many topics in the forum are about the confusion about a dream and an astral projection. I had only ever had phasing projections or lucid dreams before, so the difference between them was very apparent to me. But just recently I managed to have a wake up obe. Right after I woke up , I didnt move an inch and managed to split out.

I walked around my room, requested "Clarity Now", and somehow my sight improved, also I remember breathing in to take more strength as I felt very sleepy. I looked into a mirror and found nothing. I decided to step outside my apartment but somehow things got hazy there and the layout was very different from what I know. Then I lost my strength and fell back into my body.

Once again I didnt move an inch, I decided to try moving out again!. This time I requested "Awareness Now!" and managed to feel much more energized,  but still slightly sleepy. Oddly I saw my reflection in the mirror this time, although very fuzzy and hairless. In fact the mirror could reflect my whole self without me changing of perspective (ie: I could see my back even though I was looking straight into the mirror). Now I tried to phase through the roof, I could see layer after layer of white paint while I pulled myself up with my arms, suddenly I felt a dog or animal start smelling me from below (although I have no pets) I just laughed and lost my grip. Lost my energy and fell back into my body.

Although I was aware of the environment and of myself, this experience resembled very little of what I had experienced of obes previously. Things seemed less real and more dreamlike , where in my Astral Projections everything seemed alive and very real.

I finally understand why its confusing for so many people, "was this a dream or an obe"? I guess the answer is BOTH, its just a matter of how aware one really is.

Let me know what you all think!

So close but so far to projecting. It'll come one day, i'll just have to wait.

How you perceive your experience is how you're going to label it.  And how you perceive your experience is unique and personal to you.
This is why there are so many differing opinions on what we experience.

To me, it's all in how consciously aware you are.  To me, that explains the wide range of labels we give experiences in an attempt to "separate" them.

I've made the comparison between our waking physical life and our not-awake dreaming life.  You can read it here:

Thanks for the read, it really connected the dots for me about your statement.

This happens to me like 1 time outta 10 when looking into a mirror. For me, such an even't is rather rare.
But it's completely normal, for there was a poll for this LD website and an overwhelming anount of members have said they look funny when looking into a mirror.

Please, don't take my words as truth.  They're "MY" truth.
What you need to do is work on having your own experiences to either verify or deny the information I/we provide to you.

In essence, you still need to draw your lines through your own dots.  :)

There's a reason for that... it has to do with your own perception of self.
