I'm trying to get myself into the habit of doing exercises everyday.  My summer was hectic so at this point I've grown out of touch with my exercises, so I'd like to ask what exercises are well favored, what references and books people look for and really anything worth saying.

See, the misunderstanding is that we can only give you suggestions of exercises which work well FOR US.  Each person has to find their own unique way of projecting.

Give this article I wrote a read:  http://www.unlimitedboundaries.ca/2015/01/21/design-effective-astral-projection-technique/

In it, I explain how to find the "Focus" which works best for you, then to how to use that Focus to create your own technique tailored uniquely to yourself.  :)

I know, but I've had little progress and lots of issues, so I'm trying to get back on track at the moment.

Daily exercises are a great way to "entrain' yourself to AP. They show that you are willing to go the extra mile. I find they really help with getting your conscious and subconscious mind in sync.

I enjoy the Doorway exercises and any of the other links found on that thread. I change my exercises quite a bit. Sometimes you are in the mood for something new. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_astral_consciousness/the_doorway-t46013.0.html

Today I was trying two different things that worked well. One of them was just trying to feel the space around me and meld with it. I did this one while listening to Tom Kenyon's "A Bridge Between the Worlds" meditation.

The other one I started doing a couple of days ago and this one involved just closing my eyes and creating a circuit of energy that surrounded my body. To do this I started at one point and moved the energy around my body slowly. I was following the contours of my outer body. Once I had a couple of circles/revolutions completed, I began spiraling the area outwards. Meaning, by the time I was done this, the circles around me were being done at a good distance away. Instead of spiraling inwards, I was spiraling outwards. I guess inwards would have worked as well. I'll have to experiment with that. At first this created a sensation of dizziness or vertigo. But that soon subsided.

Read the article I linked above and begin working on finding "YOUR" Focus.  :)

I've never particularly good at self-discipline when I had little guidance to stand behind, and while I have plenty of information to look at, I have a hard time getting that creative wind.  It's hard to find an "I wanna try that idea" or "I bet that would work really well" moment.  If I knew someone around here who had astral projections, I could discuss this at length, and shore up problems quickly rather than ask and forget what I was getting at.  Course, this is just in addition to the time issues I'm dealing with right now.

See that's a problem. Because training your mind to be lucid when your out can take a lot of work and time. It doesn't matter what exercise you do. There is no one exercise that will work if you don't practice

My favorite technique is William Buhlman's visualization/motion or the early morning technique. Read his books and try his exercises. But it takes about three weeks of consistent practice until you see results. Like everyone else said there are no short cuts. Not that we know of. Your mind needs to be programed and adjusted to a higher frequency in order to tune your focus into frequency like dimensions. And that takes time. This is your chance to learn how to be disciplined and be consistent towards goals. Discipline and consistency will help you in many other ways, including achieving goals in your physical life.

I can actually do phantom movements while in a bed, stand up, turn around, look at myself.  I feel like I'm looking down and at the same time, feel the mattress under me.

I can relate to this post.  Hfeline, I'm glad you posted it.  There are so many distractions that easily take me away from what I really want in life.  One of those things was ap.  Two years ago I was very focused and using the Mastering Astral Projection book and following this and another forum and I ended up having a handful of ap's.  Now, I got off of my work schedule of about 75 hours a week and I haven't done excrement to get back into this other than lay there at night and do energy work with a little intent.  I work 7 months out of the year.  Just put in 2100 hours.  Now I'm laid off for my 5 and I feel like I still can't find time to dedicate to AP.  I just want it to come to me.  This whole focus thing,

This is what I needed to hear.  Good post.  Hopefully this will get me back on track and if I want to do this I need to stop being distracted by the internet and other things that are holding me back.  If you want something bad enough you will do what it takes to get there.

If I knew anyone in the area who did astral projection, I'd be more than happy to pick brains.  I'm looking for copies of William Buhlman books (the most prominent bookstores in the area are used bookstores, most the big names have closed down) but I was thinking to use hypnosis to put extra emphasis on exercises, and possibly, create a trigger (like m&m's) to induce ap.  I'm a dreamer, I know, but I'd like to do that.

I don't know if this has any impact, but I've noticed that in the past few months, I've been distracted by sudden movements more often than before I started trying to OBE.
