I went to bed and after a while I realized I would get an OBE. I began to raise out of my body and I said to myself " wow I am finally in the RTZ, I will be able to look at myself" I went up and turned around and saw a shadow where my body was supposed to be leaning against a wall, then I started floating downstairs and went outside, I was very surprised at how vivd everything looked thinking it was the RTZ, everything seemed familiar and then I woke up, but then I realized hey I'm not leaning against no wall I was on my bed lying down and then what i remembered from the experience was totally not my house or neighborhood so where was I? Everything seemed so familiar during the OBE but once I came back to my body I realized I didn't know where I was, makes sense?
was it a dream maybe?
Sounds like a fully conscious astral awareness projection to me. :)
Congrats!
Hi,
It makes lots of sense. There's lots of places you go and everyone there knows you and you them mostly. Its usually pleasurable but when you get back in the physical you think like you just have. Where was I? Who are these people? On occasion you'll know them from previous projections but I don't think from the RTZ. This is usually quite empty of people but my travels here are typically in the early hours and I avoid built up areas. No specific reason Its my time and you get solitude flying over the hills and lakes.
What you think you get and believing it to be the RTZ, it could have been a construct in the BST. Its difficult to tell unless your thoughts also gave the place the familiarity you had.
Nice one all the same.
Hallo mcdwg
I also opine that you did have an OBE. My reasoning is using deductive logic. A lucid dream is an experience where the dreamer clearly realizes that he or she is dreaming. So if you were not aware of it being a dream then it must have been an OBE.
Thanx for sharing.
Cheers 8-)

In my opinion it's about awareness. If you have crisp clear awareness, then it's an OBE.
It should feel like your aware like in real awake life. If not, it may be an LD or something
in between.
Of course your awareness may drop off and you can then enter a state of LD or similar
at a later time.
But if you start off with full clear awareness, whatever state you later end in, I would
call the start of it for an OBE.
In my opinion, there is a big difference between becoming lucid in a dream compared
to having a fully aware OBE.
Edit: corrected typo.
I do remember having clear awareness and just navigating the house as if I knew where I was going. I don't know maybe it has to do with all of us having some much knowledge outside our bodies that everything we do in a dream or OBE is and feels natural but once we get back to our physical bodies we forget and question these experiences

From what you describe here, you had an astral awareness experience. :)
