Well, I've only managed to get out once, very briefly, but it was enough to silence the skeptic within me and convince me that this OBE stuff was for real. The only piece of jewelry I wear is a silver earring in my left ear, I was wearing it at the time.

I just realized something! (By the way I have never projected, but this might be why.) I wear, and have worn a gold earing in my left ear ever since I started trying to project. (I actually had it many year before I even knew about this stuff!) So if the earing is whats making me unable to project, then the experiment for the day is...:
Take out the earing and try to project!

I've worn a gold class ring on my right hand for the past 5 years. Plus for the past two years, have had braces. AND I often wear small gold or silver hoops in my ears. I've wondered about this myself, however, for the past two nights have succeeded in unintentional OBE's. Do to the sheer luck of waking up just enough (the same time each night, coincidently), to encourage a projection. The projections were already occurring when I 'woke up'. I simply 'cuaght' myself as I was exiting. I still can't get anywhere near a projection (other that moving a finger) if I attempt an OBE directly after going to bed.
For me, jewelry does not 'prevent' a projection, although that does not mean it doesn't inhibit one.

It has been awhile since I read that part in the book, but I do not think he said that jewelry will stop projections, only that it seems to have effected some people. Why I don't know. But this is not true for everyone. I have had one of my most vivid projections while wearing an ear ring.

Crysania - because sleeping projections are natural, whilst conscious projections are almost entirely different.

For me, jewlery hinders my efforts. I wear a silver necklace with a saint on it. (something my mom gave me and haven't stopped wearing it since I got it.) Anyways, I received it after I first learning how to project. I noticed, even if I were going to go to sleep, I could not even remember my dreams. Now, if any of you remember me, I have been telling you about my 'Visions' that I recieve while sleeping. These completely stopped when I wore the necklace to bed. I have since taken my necklace off while sleeping, and my dreams are back!
Anyways, the point is that jewlery may or may not affect your exits. This is something you should experiment with. If you can't project while wearing jewlery, take it off (unless you have braces ;) ) Good luck!
I recall most of my night time journeying everynight scence I started to wear some symbols they are called scared geometry,And believe me if you want to project they will help you but remember not all things within the astral are pleasent.We are here to ovecome our fears and they come full on in the astral..

I should began by stating that in Robert Bruces book he mentions that wearing jewelry can effect your projections. I felt that I should share this information with you all. It is not my personal belief however. He says that HE has been effected and OTHERS have also. So if anybody has had trouble projecting there could be the remote possibility that your jewelry is causing a problem. But please. If anyone wears jewelry and is not effected whatsoever, please share your experience(s). Also please let everyone know what kind of jewelry you wear. I am really curious about this because I just ordered a vibrating wrist watch for the purpose of assisting me in my projections. I got the news about RB from my brother AFTER I ordered the watch [:(!][:)]. Thank you in advance for any responses and my warm regards to all.
