Title: what AP and LD aids have you used?
Post by: Nagual on October 15, 2003, 12:06:27
I did try the NovaDreamer too, but it never worked for me... [:(]
I lent it to 3 friends and, so far, no luck for them either.
I think that a big part of the success of these aids is in convincing you that you can do it, and in natural capabilities...

Novadreamer is a 'mask' that covers your eyes and watches for REM sleep.  When it detects REM, then it starts flashing a light in the mask.  The idea is that when you see a flashing light, you try to touch your forehead to turn it off.  If it won't go off, then you're dreaming.

I've used Hemi-sync.  It is a good way to learn the basics of reaching a trance and phasing (for me at least) to the void (focus 21).  However, they are expensive and are not a free ride.  They will help you reach these states, but you must not let your mind wander or you will drop off to sleep or just not experience anything.  As others have noted, the voice guidance can disrupt your trance from time to time.

The Lucidity Institute (http://www.lucidity.com/) sells them, but they are temporarally unavailable. [:(]  They have a link where you can sign up for an email when they become available again.  The site is a good reference for lucid dreams from a scientific point of view.

Drat!  I was hopping you would find it and tell me.  I don't have one and was looking into buying one myself.  As I recall, they were not cheap.  I want to say around US$200, but I could be way off base.  Anyone else know for sure?

If I had money, I would love to get one of these neurofeedback EEG "toys" that displays your brain's current state/frequency live.  It's nice to be able to see directly what makes the freq go down or up...

Hi all,

I am wondering what devices and aids you have used to help achieve AP and LD's, and what were your results with them.

I personally have used a Novadreamer with excellent results for about one year.  My brain no longer responds to it, but I no longer need it!  It was worth every penny.

I have also used many brainwave generator cd's including some of the Monroe stuff, with no results.  I am now using a Holosync cd with excellent results.  After two months, I am still able to leave my body or at least become very lucid every time I use the cd.  I am thrilled with it.

If you have tried something that you really like, or really hate, and feel like commenting on it, please do so, I am curious and I'm sure others are too.

If there is already a topic about this, I apologize for the redundancy, and if anyone can point me to that topic, please do!

Kristina
