I would recommend that anyone who is harboring fear within themselves should NOT try to project until they get overe that fear.

Why?

Because we tend to attract (and be attracted) to those forces/entities/energies which closely resemble ourselves.  So if you project with fear, you might bring on fearful situations that you'll have to deal with in the astral.

My advice would be, before you try to project, to ask for protection and guidance.  Reassure yourself that nothing can harm you when you're out, and that YOU are the one in control, not anyone else.  If you happen to see this woman again, confront her.  Maybe she's there as a test for you to overcome something.  Maybe she's trying to get your attention, and you're allowing fear to hinder any interaction between the two of you.

This is simple. Several times throughout the day remind yourself not to be afraid next time you see this woman, and to remember ask her who she is and why she's there. This will slip into your subconsious mind and when you find yourself Out Of Body, you'll remember.

I've faced similar circumstances, with an entity so powerful I was afraid, even though she was kind and friendly.  

I have also accidentally scared the hell out of someone I was visiting astrally- a loved one I meant no harm.

i have tryd to project in the past and had some sucsesful attemps in the past but then got very scared. the reason being evrey time i just get out i see this women in my bedroom and she walks quickly towards me this scares me and i am back in my body again. i have not asked for help off anyone.can anyone shed some light on this matter please. thanks
