Hopeful Looking For Advice

OK, I have only done the meditating about 6 or 7 times so far but I feel like I have had good progress.  Still, I am thinking that I seem to hit some sort of barrier every time with getting from my body to out.  Already I am able to induce light vibrations, tingling, and once a strange "hiss or him."  I have already gotten to the point where I can do all of this in a very short time (15 minutes tops).  

I usually commence with doing about 10-15 deep breaths.  Pretty much by the time I do this I am in a deeply relaxed state.  Note, I also practice in a semi-upright state and find I have greater achievements mid-day.  The first couple times I have meditated I would say "I remain aware as I leave my body" or "Now I'm out of body" out loud a few dozen times, but found that once I am in the deeply relaxed state that I can see such things to myself and have them take the same hypnotic effect.  I also have found that during meditating I seem to come full circle in awareness.  Within 30-40 minutes I will become deeply relaxed, feel vibrations then eventually become more and more aware until I feel completely re-energized and almost ready to stop meditating.

Yesterday, I actually felt like I was being tipped over for a small duration of my meditating, but was unsure as to what this could mean.  I certainly do not feel like I have left my body, or even achieved the state of clairvoyance.

Is there any advice that any of you can give to lead me in the right direction based upon my current progress?

I have read both Astral Dynamics and Journeys out of the Body, and re-read certain sections, but I think I require a more personal explanation for my progress.

Also, when you leave your body or go into a non-physical perceptive state while meditating, can you see? I mean, is it equivalent to physical sight?  Because meditating with my eyes closed, I find myself often anticipating to all of a sudden be able to see something besides absolutely black, absolute white, or the back of my eyelids.  This is something I haven't found information on when investigating astral projection.  Most talks almost seem to just assume you all of a sudden project after a certain point, but never mention anything about vision or the becoming of non-physical vision.  I have never gone past sensations or feelings of floating, tilting or expanding.  I always just feel like I am in these states with my eyes closed.

Anyway, thank you for your time and I would greatly appreciate any help.

p.s.
Also, is verbal affirmation really that strong or important?  Should I be going back to doing oobe affirmations while in these floating or tilting states?

It depends on the person but I always get astral sight before I leave my body.  And it looks a little hazy but once I get out and get a little ways from my body everything clears up(looking at my hands and saying "clarity now" helps too).  

As for affirmations, I don't do a whole bunch of them.  When my energy is right and I know I don't need a lot of sleep I know that I can have an OBE.  And I usually ask for that in my prayer and I will normally get it.

Just raise energy whenever you can.  Anytime your sitting down or hanging out with your buddies.  Eventually you will have an OBE.
