DMT and the Pineal Gland

As far as I know, there are no differences, except for the fact that smoking dmt raw is one serious OBE, while remaining somewhat "conciouss" in your physical body (but clumsy and unaware). Your right about the pineal gland producing dmt, infact it not only produces, but releases dmt every time you goto sleep, which is probably why the apparent astral body seperates from the physical body on a nightly basis. As far as I know, when you go into a trance and project, your pineal releases dmt for your astral or etheric body to seperate.

Does this mean that DMT is not as dangourus? Meaning, it doesn't effect your mind, or destroy your brain in any way?

Its perfectly healthy, its a part of the human body. Infact, using it better develops the neurological pathways in your brain so you can transfer thoughts and information faster.

Although, it is considered illegal for some reason, despite the fact that its safe and in every human alive.

The funniest thing about N,N-DMT is that it is one of the most powerful psychoactives existing (From what I have read I would say it
is much more powerful than LSD, difficult to say when I have not tried neither)

Anyway N,N-DMT is synthesized every night you sleep and is associated with dreams and dreaming. It is probably also what 'gives' the obes.

I think it would be harmful to use DMT however you use it as a drug. It's legal coming from the pineal gland... because it knows when you need it!!! I guess our subconscious knows how to use drugs right... perhaps we should leave it to them?

Im going to have to completly disagree with everything you just said.

it can be quite harmful to the mind for someone inexperienced with psychadelics to smoke DMT... it's quite a bit stronger than LSD I've heard... so..

yeah... don't use it unless you know what you're doing and have had experiences with other things first

or if you don't care if it might make you go totally crazy for a while, or for a lifetime....

and do it in a happy mood with no bad thoughts having surfaced in a long time.

and you can get 5meo dmt online, i think it's legal for "research purposes" don't ask me where becuase i can't look up drugs very safely from here, even if they are legal i'm not allowed to do them.

you can order 5-MeO-DMT in Ayahuasca, which is legal, unless you cultivate it or turn it into a tea, 5-MeO-DMT is the physically dangerous one, while both can be mentally dangerous if not carful or psychologically well.

I recall reading (quite a while back) a diary of a DMT user on this site..do a search for it.....Perhaps it was a link to another site.

To cut a long story short - it didn't do the person's mental health much good. Perhaps this is why its illegal ??  Just a guess : )

Hmm maybe seeing 'real' subconscious demons of 'hell' is not so 'good' for some [}:)]

However for those who know how to use it, it can be good for you and may remove psychological problems. But for that I suggest you read up on the shamans of the amazon, because they have the longest history along with this.

I still must disagree strongly with politics and goverments that deny things from humans with the attitude that 'they are stupid and probably does not know what is best for themselves'. Though I agree that there are way too many that really does not think for themselves []

Hello-

I picked up a book last night, DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman MD. I am still reading it but wanted to share some info. IN the book, Strassman talks about the DMT research he partook between 1990 and '95. In the book he theorizes that the pineal gland produces natural DMT in our bodies and is released at key moments in our lifetimes, during birth, NDEs, deep meditation and death. It's interesting to note that the pineal also forms 49 days in a fetus following conception, the same ammount of time, also, according to the Tibetan Book of the Dead in which a soul is reincarnated into a new body. The thing that struck me in the book however was the strong similarities DMT produced to that of OBEs. Having not taken DMT or having a full blown OBE I have little to base my excitment on besides the words I've read themselves. Strassman describes the DMT experience within his patients similar to an OBE. The patients feel that their minds are seperating from their bodies, they travel through different planes of conciousness and existance and even feel the vibrations as OBEers do.

So my big question out there is I guess, is there anyone out there that can discuss the similarities and differences between an OBE and a DMT experience?
