Hi All

I used to have OBEs and all manner of astral projections & experiences as a child, thought they were normal, then forgot about them, until a few years ago when I woke up paralysised with my head vibrating, and then woke up floating near the ceiling, LOL. this brought it all back to me, & I started researching it, found out about OBE's, found Robert Bruce's Ebook, found this forum, and so on.

The spontanious OBE's stopped after a few times & I've tried & tried and did manage to get the vibes a couple of times then nothing.  Got fed up with it for a bit & didn't bother, until recently.  Been trying to do it again recently, I've tried phasing which hasn't really worked, but then I started waking up early & going back to sleep, which has been producing some results.

I nearly got out the other day!! Woohooooo    I became lucid in a dream and seperated, but I was stuck in the body, I could move my astral hands & legs, and even spin round & round, but I couldn't get out.

then the next day I woke up with the vibes but every time I "tried" to relax into them, and each time I think I tried to hard & stopped them all together, got them back a few times but couldn't sustain them.

Then this morning I woke up with sleep paralysis, I was shouting my wife, screaming, panicking, trying to push her, I was moving my astral hands but not my physical & it was it I was getting confused between the two, I don't understand why I panicked?? As soon as I got out of it I though "you idiot, why didn't you just chill out?"

So that's where I'm stuck at, getting the vibes & getting parylised but not being able to take it further, any advice? Please

Thanks

For some reason sleep paralysis always causes fright (to me).  I read somewhere that the amygdala can be associated with it.  I myself have never been able to OB from paralysis- I know though that some people can.  However, vibrations always get me out- If an exit technique isn't working for you (like rope, cargo net or steam engine, skiing, etc.) I've done something else with the vibs.:  When you feel the vibrations going over (or through) your body, try to mentally intensify them, then imagine your body riding them like ocean waves, imagine yourself floating away on the vibrations.  This has worked for me but unexpectedly- the last time I did it I actually saw a 'column' of 'fog' over me and I heard a loud 'pop'.  Then I was out.  I'm not saying the same will work for you, but if it does, be warned.  This can be startling.

But Sleep paralysis is so scary... Not in a bad way but I think its too much for me to project myself when youre always trying to move your physic body...

Hi there Moondial !

Although I still cannot project at will (far from it) I have been through exactly what you experienced.

I noticed that I could usually get good results with sleep deprivation, eating a bit less, and working out hard.

I'm not saying "no food for 7days, stay awake all night"...  Instead, try a couple of days when you get up earlier than normal and go to bed earlier / or later. Eat lighter food, do some hard exercise.

The object being, to upset your sleeping cycle. Now, try and project at .....11:30am on a saturday/sunday, after all that hard work.

It worked for me ! Perhaps you could try it, good luck !

Thanks for that

I'll try the surfing, because I do actually surf so I'll enjoy that

So far though anything I try to do, I seem to send the vibes away.

Ooh, that would be cool, I'll look out for a colum of fog, thanks!

Cheers

Hi clandestino

Thanks for that!

Hmm, you might have just found the reason for my spontenious OBE's actually.

When they started happening a couple of years back, it was at a time that I wasn't getting much sleep, I never sleep much anyway, but I had had a couple of really late ones. I probably wasn't eating as regularly as normal either come to think of it.

But then for a few weeks, I found it really easy to get the vibes, I remember lying down on the floor and getting the vibes only maybe 5 mins later.

And then, it just stopped, maybe because I gave up practising & maybe I started sleeping & eating more regularly.

My sleep pattern has been more regular until recently, I've started a new business & I've had few nights up a few hours later - and at the weekends I've been sleeping in for a couple of hours to try to make up some sleep - so I've been waking up but then staying in bed trying to get a couple of hours rest.

I think this must some how be causing the recent activity, would you agree?

Yeah, so I think you've just described exactly what I've been doing recently, excellent, thanks!
