K I am sitting here and got sleepy then was half asleep then all of a sudden I entered the astral. What would be the general feeling or experience? how much would my consciousness change in general? would I feel temperature drops or?

I trying to find out more on what exactly changes once you make that transition from the physical world to the RTZ or astral.

Those things are variables depending on a number of factors. I think beginners mostly get caught up in all the new sensations they've never experienced before rather than comparing it to something they have already experienced. It's feels fresh and new and exciting and maybe a bit scary (like new things do sometimes).

I've had experiences that are fairly indistinguishable from the physical world, and some that are nothing at all like physical experience. I suppose it's what you make of it.

Sorry if that's not very direct, but I'm not sure there is a direct response for it. Just be open to anything.

Nothing about "you" (your consciousness) really changes at all.  What and how you're perceiving the experience is what changes.

As Stookie pointed out, you could have an experience almost exactly like your real life here in the Physical.  An example of this is a false awakening... it's a non-physical experience which is so real, you're fooled into thinking you're awake.
And then you can have those experiences which can literally leave you speechless, unable to describe it even to yourself... so you have to just go off of the imagery of it.

Most of my experiences tend to be the first.  In any case... they're just different perceptions, that's all.  Nothing about you changes.

As for "temperature drops"... temperature is a physical reality (this reality) property.  In the "astral", you'll only experience the perception of your belief that there should be temperature... not actual temperature.

For me its exhileration if I am flying! which can change immediately to what you see there. If its lovely countryside or architecture its aesthetic. But sometimes it can be dark or mundane or lost amongst trees unable to fly. In a word changeable.  :-D
I have a dream, a song to sing...d~ d~ d~

It's as changeable as a fleeting thought within a storm of ideas.  :)

I had my first experience last night. I found myself standing in my hallway looking down at the back door, then a big black wolf entered through the back door. I became terrified, the wolf walked up to me and past me. Never once looking at me. Once the wolf walked past me, I felt the wolf was non threatening. At that moment I felt my body get pulled back to bed and awoke bolt upright...

I heard the first entity you encounter is one of your guides...wonder if  thats true?

8-) like this question. its hard for me to put it into words. but ill try

For me, in my opinion, when i finally do get an OBE its the best feeling in the world! i feel so aware, like you were just sleeping or dreaming and you wake up but you dont have that moment of vague or tired/weak consciousness in between it goes from like no consciousness to probably the most aware you have been in real regular waking life. sometimes i tend to get either a blue flash or sort of like peaks of whats around but i dont usually get my vision right away as alot of other people dont as i understand. they say getting away from your physical helps and i usually get it when im a few feet away or sometimes i get it right away. i think for me and everyone else its always different.

im usually floating or flying out of my body, so of course i get the floating, light as a feather feeling.

my vision when i started to have them was vague or greyish/distorted but now i usually get it pretty quick, but the moment i get my astral vision it takes me a couple seconds/minutes to "adjust it" or get used to it.

See when you first come out (with me itleast) and this is one of the things i found the COOLEST! was that i could see in all directions simultaneously. it can be annoying because seeing back front left and right even above and below, and your trying to focus in one direction, lets say to your right, you dun really know whats what. but this problem goes away pretty quickly as you focus on your right and maybe focus on what your looking at usually its like the other sides stop working (not really you stay seeing out of all sides still but you learn how to focus in one direction at a time as you would with your physical eyes)

but for example when i turned around and was walking back towards my room i heard something behind me and when i thought behind me my focus/vision switched from the front where i was looking at, to the back even though i was still facing frontward. and as soon as my thought about whats behind when away it switched back to front(not really switched because i could concentrate on both simultaneously if i want to but since we're used to being able to see through two eyes and a 180 degree view ahead of us, it feels almost confusing when you use the whole 360 view).

basically your thought and focus controls your vision. i love that! i find it amazing like we have 5 senses in the physical but in the astral body its like we have 20. Also i love that when you first come out, if theres something or someone around, you dont have to see them usually you feel presences. If i stop and look at my house and kind of "sense" around i guess you can say or focus on it i can feel if theres other beings or people or if its empty and just me. ALSO you have what i call "DUALITY" feeling. you feel like your in two places at once, like your consciousness is split. i can feel myself walkind down my hallway in my astral body but at the same time simultaneiously also conscious of myphysical body still in bed and how im lying there or breathing.
and if your still a beginner like me im sure you get everything i mentioned as well as an adrenaline rush/excitement that in order to prolong the experience you have to keep it under control or back to your body you go  .

SO ONCE AGAIN, FIRST FEELINGS ARE=
(you might get extra feelings or skip some but in my case here you go:)

1)BLUE FLASH/STARFIELD/MOMENT OF BLACKNESS/SPIRAL ETC. (i guess also depends on you and the method)
2)SUDDEN CONSCIOUS AWARENESS(cannot be confused with dream/day dream/hallucination, if its actually obe, you will know for sure)
3)FLOATING OR FLYING FEELING/LIGHT AS A FEATHER FEELING(usually just coming out of the physical but sometimes im already out over it floating etc)
4)VISION DISTORTION FOLLOWED BY VISION FOCUS CONTROL/ADAPTATION
5)'DUAL'//TWO PLACES AT ONCE FEELING

First thing I saw on my first OBE was the color blue. Bright blue light outlining my nonphysical arms as i waved them in front of me

has anybody else stopped getting vibrations halfway thru their 'learning astral projection' experience?

i used to get the vibrations back when i started OBE'S but ive noticed that after the first maybe 5 experiences i never got the vibrations, ever again. why ? and is this an advantage or a disadvantage? am i just not staying aware when its happening?

robert monroe in "journeys out of body" mentions holding your awareness and one of the methods to produce an obe is to simply look straight ahead above your forehead maybe a foot ahead, then after your awareness is held there move out to 3 feet, and then finally 9 feet. then after you have focused your awareness and are able to hold it at 9 feet away from your forehead you have to bring it up to a 90 degree angle parallel to your body going up over your head. after you hold it there for a bit your spose to feel the vibrations or a zap or sound of some sort in your head. he then says to mentally pull it down into the body from the top of the head and it should start vibrations. he says being able to control the vibrations and eventually calling it at will (which is how he usually went about starting a obe is finding the vibrations) will help you master inducing an obe at will easier because once you "know where they are"you can just mentally go into that spot and just "turn on the switch".

would getting the vibrations help my process? maybe help me stay consciously aware? because all i get instead of the vibrations is a moment of black out and then i regain consciousness but maybe during these 2 mins or however much time its for is the moment when the "vibrations" are starting?

does it even matter or make a difference? (im pretty good at inducing obes thru lucid dreams but i suck trying to induce one from an awake state, focused or meditative state. )

***meant to start a whole new topic dunno why its showing up here under this one :/
