Hey everyone. :)

Okay, so, a few years ago, one of my best friends and I discovered the idea of Astral Projection, and spent the next several months reading everything we could find about it and trying to achieve it ourselves. Neither of us ever got there, and eventually gave up. The closest I ever did get, though, was one afternoon while taking a random nap in my mom's bedroom (I don't remember the reason). I remember feeling completely relaxed and like I was about to fall asleep, then suddenly felt very strong vibrations throughout my body, and my head felt like it was sinking backwards into my pillow. Suddenly it dawned on me that I might be getting close to an AP, apparently got too excited, and completely snapped out of it. I was disappointed for a minute, but mostly SO excited -- I'd never gotten that close before, and actually never did again... until today!
Recently the thought just popped into my head, out of nowhere. I was talking with my boyfriend at the time and mentioned it to him and told him about my past experience, and by the time we finished talking about it, I was completely anxious to get started trying again! :P So for the past couple of weeks I've been refreshing my memory on techniques and reading up and checking out forums about it (this one being one of them -- I've been around for a little bit, but just registered tonight!), and every night I've tried what I used to: try to get to a point in meditation/almost sleep where I could possibly project. But, alas... it hadn't worked. I always just fell asleep. Until today!

Okay, so, here is what happened:

I had a long night last night and an early morning today, so early this afternoon when I had a chance, I decided to take a nap. I watched a little bit of "Never Been Kissed" (the movie) on TV, and then fell asleep. A little while later, I woke up. I didn't open my eyes, but I could tell by listening that "Never Been Kissed" had ended and the movie "Uptown Girls" was on. I don't particularly like that movie but I was super relaxed and didn't feel like getting up yet or changing the channel, so I just layed and listened for several minutes. Suddenly, I got the same kind of very strong vibrations all through my body that I had gotten with my one other experience a couple years ago! Immediately after, I felt a sensation like my head was sinking down into my pillow. I was really excited, but tried to stay calm, because I knew that was what had messed me up before. I tried to focus on other sounds I'd been listening to before (the movie, my mom and sister's voices in the kitchen on the other side of the wall, etc.), but the vibrations were so loud I couldn't hear them anymore. I wasn't sure what to do, and feared that if I did anything I would mess it up, but didn't really see another option that would help, so I decided to try to move. I tried lifting my right arm, just my forearm from the elbow up, and I don't remember opening my eyes, but I could see my arm move next to me! It was BRIGHT green, almost like a neon or green apple color, and made such a loud vibraty sound when I moved it, kind of like an electric field or an airplane. After that I decided to try to project completely, but wasn't sure how to go about it. I remembered hearing that rolling to the side is a technique that works for a lot of people, so I tried that, but I felt like I was just kind of flailing around, but not going anywhere. I remember then I had kind of two thoughts at once: one about other techniques I could try, and one of apprehension... then I snapped out of it. The vibrations stopped, and I could tell I was back to just laying on my bed normally, except I was a little shaky, especially in my right arm, which almost felt a little sore. But I was still so relaxed I didn't want to move (even though I was SO excited and wanted to immediately go tell anyone who would listen), so I stayed laying with my eyes closed, and fell asleep for what must have been only about 30 seconds (when I woke back up the movie was on the same scene as when I had fallen asleep) until I heard my phone vibrate with a text message. That immediately shocked me all the way awake, and I got up and texted my boyfriend (who was unfortunately at work at the time, or I would have called him!), then ran out of my room to tell my sister and my mom what had happened.

Now, several hours later, here I am. :P

I'm not really sure what my point is here. I guess, basically... what do you guys think? Was this really a partial Projection? I still can't believe it even happened!
Also, maybe, does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve this again, and/or actually project?

And why was my arm green? Anyone else have an experience like that?

Thank you! :)

(Btw, sorry for posting this on two different boards, I wasn't sure where it belonged.)

Yes, it sounds like you had a partial projection.
There are stickied threads with all kinds of techniques, but basically, the idea is to cultivate the state of mind awake, body asleep (aka trance), and get as much info about projection that you can to avoid undue fear.
My practice includes energy work, meditative practices, dream lucidity induction, exit techniques, and more energy work.
The idea is to develop a routine that promotes the ability to get into a trance and remember your experience, and IMO all are integral to this.

A case of spontaneous partial oobe.
Its interesting that you perceived a green colored arm, mostly the "other" body is gray/white and semi-transparent.

this is one of the most interesting AP-related things I've seen recently, because I seem to very vaguely recall seeing something similar but I have no idea where or when. I think you're definitely on to something. Don't get too excited or it will become a barrier to your progress. But this is a good milestone. Congrats!
