Hi all.  New here, so forgive my lack of knowledge.  I've been having night hallucinations since I was little.  It started when I was young, I would wake up and see a person in my room.  The image would vanish quickly.  Once I woke up and saw 6 or 7 dark shadows standing around my bed looking at me.  I blurted out "What are YOU doing here?" towards the closest one.  It was as if I knew them somehow but didn't know how I knew them.  This has been going on, usually coming and going in cycles, since then.   A lot of times I will wake up and see something hanging down from the ceiling right in front of my face which retracts as I open my eyes.  Other times I see "insect" looking things flying around the room or on the wall.  Once I woke to see a woman in a white cloth floating directly above me.  Lately I've been seeing more and more people, or rather entities in my room.  None of these experiences have ever been frightening to me, although I am sometimes startled to see them.  I find them intriguing and somewhat entertaining.  The last week I've had a more concerning experience.  I started a journal, so I will just copy the entry from that:

"Huh... that's... interesting..." I mumble as I stare blankly at the two beings in front of me. It's around 3:00 in the morning, I have just woken up to find two robed men standing in our bedroom facing me. I lean up on my elbow to get a better look. Their robes are a deep red and flow out in the shape of a cone. The hoods remind me of KKK attire, except that you can see their faces, and the top of the hood doesn't quite come to a point - instead being cut straight across. One man is quite tall and obviously in charge of the duo. I blink my eyes a few times, they are still there. I can't quite make out their faces, even though they are unconcealed - their faces are somewhat blurred. For some reason I have a feeling they are looking at or interested in my necklace - a Russian Orthodox cross I always wear. I'm not a very religious person, but I do relate this specific cross with my spirituality and keep it on me at all times. They do not move as I turn to see if my wife is awake. She's sound asleep. I turn again towards the beings but they have vanished. I'm quite startled, they appeared so solid and now - nothing. I lay back down in my bed and drift off to sleep, waking up a few more times to see them at various positions around the room. They vanish soon after each time. I wake up to see them standing over my wife. They are holding some large sheet over her and I can see their fingers slowly letting go, one at a time. They are looking at me as they do this.  It's as if they want me to know they are going to drop it on her. I reach out my hand and try to push the sheet away, but it's very solid. Soon after it falls on my wife and she wakes up screaming. The object vanishes but she is still upset. I try to calm her down, she says she's OK but scared. She is upset that I scared her awake. I tell her I am sorry.  My wife asks me to go see a doctor; it's not the first time it's been requested of me. Maybe I might, maybe I just might.

A few nights later I opened my eyes to see a red "door" or portal of some sort directly facing me.  I was not even asleep, I had just laid down in bed and closed my eyes for a few minutes.  I opened them when I adjusted to a more comfortable position a few minutes later. I looked around the room, afraid that the robed beings would be there again.  Nothing.  I looked back and the portal or door was now black, and slowly faded away over then next 20 seconds or so.  Now, I'm allowing the possibility that all this is all in my head, and that my mind is just playing tricks on me; I might just need some medication.  However, I talked to someone online who mentioned out of body experiences in the conversation, saying something like I could be in-between, or something to that effect.  I had never thought that my hallucinations would have anything to do with out of body experiences - so that's why I'm here.  To get input on the possibility of this being more than my overactive mind wrestling with me.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  I'm only concerned because I worry my wife may be being attacked in some way, otherwise I would just chalk it up to another episode of overactive imagination.  For some background, I'm not very religious - but I do consider myself spiritual.  I practice meditation off and on, though not very frequently.  However, one thing I do every night is to pull imagined white energy in to my body a few times before I go to sleep and then breath out negativity.  Again, all replies, even critical ones, are appreciated.  Thank you!

If you want to become a drug-head then be my guest, but that doesn't change the fact that there are entities pestering you, and you might find it more satisfying to get rid of them than to fry your brain with pills.

It sounds like you're living in a place with a lot of activity (no revelation there), and I'm no expert with this, but it might be handy to learn astral projection so these entities won't catch you off-guard. Seems like some layer of your mind is experienced with the astral, so it might be easy for you to learn to project.

But there are some folks in this forum who can help more. One person said you can repel spirits by putting salt around the room. I'm not sure why that would help (maybe the chemical compound) but it's an idea

These sound like classic sleep paralysis symptoms to me. Next time it happens, go through this checklist:

1. Is your body paralyzed? If you're paralyzed, then it's sleep paralysis. You can OBE very easily from this point should you wish to. Sleep paralysis is harmless but often very scary.

2.  If you're not paralyzed you should do the following reality check. This will tell you whether or not you are awake or out-of-body. Pinch your nose shut with your thumb and finger and see if you can breathe through your closed nose. If you find you can still breathe then you are out of body (because you're not actually pinching your physical nose, instead you're pinching the nose of your astral body).  You should do the check even if you feel sure you are awake, because being out of body can feel exactly the same as being awake.

3. If you find that you can't breathe through your nose when you do the reality check, then you are definately awake (you're pinching your physical nose) and you may be experiencing some sort of paranormal activity, clairvoyance or hallucinations.

If you memorise these steps and go through them next time it happens, you can find out for sure what it is you're experiencing.  :-)

I don't think it's sleep paralysis.  I've never felt unable to move, and half the time I will get out of bed to chase or try and catch whatever it is I'm seeing.  Also, my wife's frequently witnessed me sitting up or getting out of bed trying to reach for whatever I'm seeing.  I will however try these steps next time this happens to be sure.  Thank you.

I've had those all my life.

I now attribute them to Focus 1 / Focus 2 overlays.

Basically, you're seeing into the Astral right upon waking.
