The book by Denning & Phillips suggests exercise in order to better be able to remember projection and dream experiences. It said that it is better to not just use energy work and meditation, even though it is possible to use astral projection consistently without doing aerobic exercises.

Hi Overworked !

I'm looking forward to more running this summer too. I haven't had enough OBE experience to answer your question, but I have noticed that exercise CAN help. however, like everything, it is hit and miss !

After a good work out, the physical body loses its tensions. It becomes easier to relax into the frame of mind where you are confident of OBE success...On the couple of occasions I have conciously projected (instead of finding myself out of body by chance), I've been in this confident, relaxed state.

I would suggest that there is probably a slight correlation. I'd also guess that the correlation is higher with regard to Over-exercise, perhaps just because it has a knock-on effect on sleep patterns.

All,

I have had success in initiating an OBE if I wake up in the middle of the night, and then watch myself fall back to sleep.  However, it can be hit or miss depending upon how stressful my day was, concentration effort, etc.

Now that the weather is getting better, I am looking to start running.  Does anyone on this forum do aerobic/cardiovascular exercise, and if so, did it contribute to your ability to quickly induce OBE's later on in the day/night?  Have you seen a direct correlation.  I am not exercising to provoke an OBE, but instead to stay healthy.  However, would this be a welcomed side effect?

Any responses are appreciated as always.
