Well, unless you have a referee hiding under your bed, I think it's completely normal.  [:D]

Sounds to me like a classic case of hypnogogic sounds.  The closer you drift away from your physical consciousness and closer to your astral consciousness, the more "Strange" things you will start to experience.  Namely, you'll start to "see" things that you aren't used to (visions, wierd objects, colors, etc) and you'll start to hear things that you normally don't hear (buzzing, loud bangs, static, hissing, etc).

All in all, those are good signs, because it means you're right at the border between your imagination and the astral realms.

thanks jeff!

I will keep that in mind, hope to overcome the fear factor.
If i find a referee then i'll smash his head [:(!]

All the best to other in your quest.

P/S : Maybe some year later we can play football in astral.

Jeff Mash hit the nail on the head there, I would just like to comment on the hypnagogic sound state and paralysis.

I only reach the sound state on rare occasions and it probably only happends when its more quiet than mormal. The paralysis state for me is my trigger to go OBE , most people post here about getting to that state where they CANT MOVE and then cant seem to get past it .. well.. For me (and probably everyone else but they just dont know it) it is the last step before leaving the body. I actually use paralysis as an exit technique I guess. . The second I feel it I test it and try to move , when I notice that I cant move at all , some kind of switch goes off in my mind that makes me move something other than my physical limbs .. and thats what leads to a full blown OBE for me.. Shortly after I notice that its my astral limbs moving quite freely , I get vision.  I'm not always where I Should be though.. sometimes the surroundings are the same , or similar , but other times , I'm in a whole new place and usually based on my surroundings I'm either very concious of the exit , or I immediately slip into a dream state and get quite ticked off when I wake up.

I suggest exploring the paralysis state more .. try to do either a "Bust out" or a "slide out" method when you realize for sure that you are in the paralysis state. Heres what I mean..

1) Bust out-- Give everything you've got to franticly thrash your limbs out of paralysis .. you will either

   A) Fling your whole astral body in the direction you were thrashing
   B) Flind your whole REAL body in the direction you were thrashing
or C) Simply remain in the paralysis state until you get really tired and relax .. which will in turn either bring you back to reality or weaken the paralysis and allow easier movement of your astral limbs..

so basically dont give up .. and when you think you've "ended" the experience .. think twice because you could experience a false awakening. I cant tell you how many times I thought I failed an OBE attempt when I tried the "bust out" method and couldnt break free , then I sat up and mumbled some curse words at myself then woke up AGAIN only to realize I was just OBE a few seconds ago being mad at myself .. AHH! .. Yes its true so think twice .. or 3 times to make sure you failed.. heh..

2) Slide Out---- This method is way more relaxing and works better as you explore the paralysis state even more. Once you get a feel for how it is to break paralysis a little bit whether its one finger free or one limb free, you should be able to do some sort of visual to help you break the rest free.. What helps me is to think of my limbs moving while I'm in the paralysis state , but combine the thought/visual of them moving with actually trying to move them.. Yes you will feel the resistance from being paralyzed but after a bit of practice and maybe 2 to 4 paralysis sessions , you will realize what I'm talking about and notice that a visualization helps to slide right out of paralysis for a full blown OBE.

I hope this helps , I'll go ahead and post a new topic with this text copied there so maybe some others will read a different topic and soak it in.  Keep in mind that these 2 techniques for paralysis work for ME and that I've had many chances to experience this and putting it into words was not easy. I suggest not giving up if it doesnt work for the first few times. If you are lucky enough to reach the paralysis state .. the next step is realizing how to break it cause you are basically as "out" as you need to be.. like a chicken in its egg ready to be born .. just peck yer way out dude! lol.. Hi there all good fellow,

I'm new to this forums. I beieve in OBE thought in my culture we call it soul. have been experimenting with this for a while (2 weeks mostly everynight even when tired).

I've been using the OOBE.WAV in assisting. This is what give me the feel of actual vibrations. Great! thanks for those who provide link to this file. (I'm getting more deeper in each session and learn how to be in deep relaxation.

I got one question, the other night i in what you call a sleep paralysis and lost the feel of my physical body.

About the same time it happen is suddenly heard a whistle. no..not the high pitch but the one we normally use for song. But it's very loud and seems that the sound are being emmitted from my own room. at 3 am? this cause me to jump up and open my eyes but can't move body because still in the paralysis state. after everthing went back to normal it tried to induce but without success.

My question is this normal or is it something else? Does anyone else have this kind of experience? Thanks in advance for your response.
