ok its a weird thought but an idea nevertheless.

when i go in to trance or relax enough to ap i feel as if i am floating on water in the middle of a warm tropical sea. as safe as can be. so i thought mabye if every day i spend an hour just aimlessly floating on the surface of the water on my back at the local pool when its quite that mabye i ll be able to project more because then the feeling i feel during ap will b easy to access and so easier to exit. what u think ever1?

Well, I don't think it can cause you to project more, but it gives you a dandy visualization to use when time to exit.
I especially like going to the bottom of the pool and letting myself go up, and really 'feel' it.  Then, if I want to project, all I have to do is recall the sensation to use.

Oh, that's an excellent visualization technique!  :)

My view is a bit different. I always compare the exit to your mind sinking deeper and deeper into a dark pond or lake..Once it sinks to a certain level you send a trigger to leave the body in the dark while rising to the surface with your mind...I always feel like its waves of water hitting me when I get closer and closer to sleep. I think the experiences in the pool could help. Wouldnt it be interesting to get into that trance state in the water and then see what happens?
I wandered slowly there
I saw a field where a thousand corpses lie
Angels sang the hymn of the end
About monsters which they fought
Over our world

I do something like that. I've never really tried to articulate it. I don't really use traditional OBE methods, though, and my OBEs are generally more sort of visionary than exploratory (if that makes sense).

When the pool I intend to manifest appears, I fully intend to give it a try. ;)

One of my main rundowns for phasing consists of diving off a diving board, touching the bottom, climbing out, and doing it over and over. There are so many body sensations it really sucks me into the visualization: the grip of the diving board, the metal hand rails, the sun coming down, smell of chlorine, a slight breeze, the movement through the air, the sensation of the water, etc. I've been using it for about 5 years now along with a couple others. I find mixing them up helps.

I've thought about it, but I'm afraid of falling asleep and drowning.  When I'm accompanied I try, but there's always something that gets my attention, and if I do it by myself, well, I'm afraid to drown.
By now it's moot, the temps. they are a'changin, and it's already too cold for me to jump in.
