Why does it seem impossible ?

Ok .. this just doesn't seem to work.
I've been trying for so long to astral project, lucid dream and meditate and nothing happens !
What's worse is my dreams ...

I never ever was able to control my dream ...
Whenever I realize I'm dreaming, I wake up.
And I've never eaten anything in my dreams, whenever I try to eat something, that's the end of the dream.

Today I had a dream where I'm a character from a game called Final Fantasy X (Tidus)
I stand there in a beautiful place.
It looked like a desert but it was actually ruins of a city (Zanarkand in FFX).
It looked similar to this picture :

Then I saw a cloud platform with a golden castle on it.
The sky was blue and all the colors were intense.
When I put my leg on those stairs, I felt something.
Then I woke up ...

I knew I was dreaming, I even said "Wait, this a dream, right ?". That character said that in the game too.
But I couldn't control myself well ...
It was just like deep imagination. I couldn't feel my legs on the ground until I stepped on the cloudy stairs.

And I could look at myself in my dreams a lot. And I'm usually someone else ...
Is it necessary to learn lucid dreaming before astral projection ?

What's a long time? It took me years before I actually projected. But there were things along the way that made me stay with it. How important is this to you? How long will you stay dedicated? That will determine whether or not it's possible for you.

I don't think it's necessary to learn lucid dreaming before astral projection, but it would be a good thing. If you've really been trying for so long to astral project then try this, I need more guinea pigs.

Well ... I'll try forever.
But it's frustrating to keep on trying with no results.

It seems like its just the intention. It has to be strong enough...then it seems your body/mind
is rewiring something that makes it possible for you to project. I had 8 months without any success,
then out of nothing i could leave my body. Still not able to reproduce it.
