i'm going to say yes, you do need real-time sight to project into the real-time zone.  i would imagine if you were projecting into the higher astral planes that you wouldn't necessarily need it, but anyone can feel free to make me look wrong :).  i wasn't ever able to project until a few days ago, and it always starts off with being able to see through my eyelids before exiting the body - i mean, you have to have some sense of direction and reality, right?

Actually, I've heard tell of several projections in which the person started without astral sight. And several which ended because of that. But I believe it can be fixed, as most things astral can, by remaining calm and keeping control over your thoughts..

But I'll let the experts explain what to do about it.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

I also ask this because recently I went close to an OBE. I felt myself falling at hyperspeed but at the same time floating. I felt my hands and feet rise higher than my torso and I felt like wind all over my body to ever add to the effect of falling, as if I had just fallen off a cliff, yet rising at the same time.

But the whole time this was happenening, my eyes were closed so all I saw was black. WHen I opened my eyes slightly thats when I actually saw my arms and floating higher than my torso and head.

feedback please

During my projections (half-induced and half involuntary, since they all always happen at the end of sleep) I sometimes experience a blurred vision or everything around me is darker than it really should be. I just can't see well. Typical commands of "vision now!" type don't really help. I heard, however, that all this can be put down to the lack of energy of the etheric body while projecting.

Quietstorm,

I would suggest not meditating for that long.  If you don't manage anything within 45-60min get up and do something else for a while, then if you want come back to it.
The first time I tried for a conscious projection...I never got my vision, the whole episode was in complete darkness.  I still am having problems with it being a little hazy but I am sure it will only get better with pratice!
Good-luck!

My RTZ vision came today for the second time in my life, and it came on the two occasions after a blanking state that last for some minutes, then I start to wake up in real time zone: and if I have too much of a move (even a mental move) I wake up completely. I really feel like RTZ is VERY close to physical, for time is not disturbed, you can really feel as if you were awake but actually you're not, it's not easy to actually know that it is a remote vision, and not your eyes that are opend. Although, today the view I had was from another point in the room... which was really strange: I could see the computer screen, as if I sat in front of it, but actually I was lying on the sofa. I was so surprised, that I imediately got up to check if I was sitting at the computer... I have regretted that!

yea my last projection i was in my bedroom and in the hallway, and i wanted to go from the hallway back into the bedroom to slow myself down (bad move) and ended up getting extremely disoriented cause i was looking through two sets of eyes and eventually i snapped back into my body *grr*  my real time sight is usually somewhat gray, and i found also that commands like "clarity now" don't work

If you just want to get astral vision at the expense of risking not projecting during an attemt, I would suggest stimulating the 3rd eye or forehead chakra. Imagine a spining disk just above and between the eyes.

hope this helps

You and I are in the same boat. I feel jealous of people who get their astral sight easily 'cause I have to majorly work at mine.

Anyways, Quiet_Storm, according to Monroe tapes, no you don't need to have astral vision during meditation to leave your body. You just need to have the feeling of lifting out of your body, or spinning around in your body. This feeling of separation from your body is in fact an OBE. To be more specific: With practice you'll be able to distinguish between your energy body and your physical body. Use the NEW method initially to increase energy flow in your energy body so that when you do move your energy body, you'll know it. For instance, you should be comfortable with moving your arm up out of your physical arm. This is relatively easy to do and will give you an idea of what it feels like.

(Note: to move your arm up out of your energy arm, just imagine (I'm serious, just imagine it) you are moving your arm up without moving your physical arm. It sounds weird but it's relatively easy to do)

When you practice and practice and eventually get comfortable moving your entire body out of your physical body, if you're like me what will happen is you'll get out of the body but you won't be able to see anything. Great! You'll wonder what happened and whether you missed something somewhere.

What I do (and it's started to work) is that I start to move my imaginary arms, and my imaginary legs. Again this is easier to do if you've practiced NEW before beginning the exercise. Then you'll be more aware of your arms and legs etc. The trick is to just keep casually moving your arms and legs and fingers etc. (your imaginary/energy ones not your physical ones). Eventually what happens to me is I sort of "click" into a dream vision of the arm or leg moving. Unfortunately I haven't been able to keep the vision for very long, but this is something I've just learned to do this week.

As for the OBE:

The problem is the fact that it's so easy to do it's not funny but it's the staying out part that's a pain. Also, because you and I are not graced with astral vision as soon as we leave the body, it's kind of hard to really do anything useful because of course we can't see. In addition, once you're out of your body, if you do not have sight, you'll eventually think of your physical body and then you'll basically be back in your body again.

Again, if you feel that you've moved out of your physical body, then you've performed an OBE according to Monroe Gateway tapes. It is much easier to manipulate your energy body if you've been practicing NEW.
When you are out of your body, practice moving your arms, legs etc. and eventually your sight will "click" in (usually after your pretty bored heh).

Hope this helps,

Jason.

Frere "I really feel like RTZ is VERY close to physical, for time is not disturbed, you can really feel as if you were awake but actually you're not"

RTZ is connected to physical. There is a gradual change between them. There have been times that I felt like physical was about to shatter around me like glass reavealing what is really there. But the real evidence is telekinesis. It exists in physical and gradually stronger closer to RTZ.

Zonmezz "As for the OBE:

Its a lot easier than I thought it was before I did it. The first few times, I didnt even realize I had done it because its something we do a lot but its not something we normally think of as real.

My astral exits are usually a bit different in that I first pass through the sensation/feeling of vibrations and whisling/buzzing in my ears and entire body. Then I get out of my bed, and actually get out of my physical body. But anyhow, the result is that it happened that I did not see a thing, everything would be quite gray. One of the things that work is to ask for the vision to be clear, just say I want a clear vision - this is the power of your will. Another thing I tried is when my field of vision was tiny, I could only see the area in front of me, the size of the face of a person 10 feet away. So with my astral hands I push away the sides of the opening as if it was trying to enlarge a hole in a soft platic wall to see thru it. Quite amazingly I had a perfect vision when I went into an OBE while falling asleep, that was 25 years ago, and I though I was dreaming I was dying. I saw myself floating out of my body and start hovering in the living room where I saw my deceased grand mother sitting quietly on the sofa... I never had such a great vision since then... only in lucid dreams.

What are you talking about (maybe my bad english?)
the astral eye?

Quiet_Storm

when you actually gain astral vision.... does it actually feel like or look like your eyelids are coming apart, like you are openeing your eyes?

Nay

For me it seems a few different ways.. sometimes I start seeing swirling colors mist then my room starts to form within the mist.
I see a bright light then black for a second then my room starts to form once again in my vision. Once I was just staring at the darkness behind my eyes, then realized I was looking at my fan thru my eyelids. Another time I did it with my eyes open..lol..I know, no one will believe me.. I just unfocused my eyes and stared straight ahead and in my peripheal (sp) vision I could see the room stretching and getting all wavy but directly in front of me started getting real crisp...then I realized I had at some point closed my physical eyelids and was looking out my astral eyes...it was really cool!
Those are the ways I can recall right now..lol.

I usually meditate for 1 hour, 2 hours max. I have never gotten astral vision.

What does it take to gain astral vision? Can anybody get it?

Do you HAVE to gain astral vision during meditation before you can leave your body?
