Title: Would a physical illness assist in or prevent (to some degree) an OOBE?
Post by: donzieja on April 03, 2011, 18:34:26
Hello, all. I've been sick with a moderately severe cold (or flu, not really sure.) For some reason, I've been able to relax much better when I'm sick, except for when I've to cough. I was thinking about astral projection while laying down earlier, and I began to experience slight vertigo, as if I was on the edge of the couch about to fall off, but I really wasn't.

Could the sensations revealed in this altered state of health be a potential gateway to better relaxation, and the ability to retain the knowledge to attain said "better relaxation"?

I know this may seem purely coincidental, yet something (I can't really put my finger on it) is convincing me otherwise.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

~ Don

Hi Don, you may well be right; relaxation is certainly a key to the ability to OOBE,
and we usually start taking it easy when we are feeling a bit down.
Some people, with certain illnesses, have been know to spontaneously 'exit' into the astral experience.
Just try and remember how relaxed you are while having the flu!  :-D

Hi don,
I've noticed a slight increase in OBE's when sick but due to a contrary condition. Being uncomfortable, such as a clogged nose, while sick seems to keep me slightly awake, and in a prime state to attempt a projection.
