Title: Would a piercing inhibit the projection of the astral double?
Post by: Roddy on September 29, 2006, 06:50:59
Hey folks. I studied up on AP a while ago, and have had sporadic experiences between then and now. Just recently (two hours ago) I had the most consistent vibrations and partial exits I've ever had...or it was a vivid, VIVID dream. I'm pretty sure it was the former, though. Some things I want to note and ask, and then the question in the subject line.

My first impulse when I feel the vibrations coming on and / or becoming lucid in a dream is to fly, to just rocket up into the night. I seemed to have been weighted down earlier this morning. What could this be, astral body isn't fully generated? I was just sort of hobbling around, although some positive effects happened when I snapped my arms down, an action which usually gains me velocity when flying in dreams.

Now -- would the having of tattoos and a piercing inhibit the generation of the astral body?

I have had a tattoo since I was 16, my ears pierced since I was 6 yrs old, and my belly button pierced since I was 23 (I am 31 now) and they have never interfeared with me projecting...

Hah. I only ask because R Bruce mentioned in Astral Dynamics that tooth fillings might inhibit the generation of the astral double. I guess not.

Again... I also have a few fillings and guess what?? I still have OBEs.  Now was RB talking about the astral body only?? ie. does that mean he thinks that etheric projection is still possible, or did he mean both/either the astral or etheric body could be hindered by fillings??

Hmmm, so there could be an advantage to having dentures?  :-D metaphorically OBE, they come out at night!

Dentures...  :-D  Nice one.

My ears are pierced and I have no trouble with OBEs.  And I have fillings.  And I've had my appendix out.  And I still have my tonsils.  And I have long hair.  And I don't have hairy palms.

Thought I'd mention that, just in case any of these other things are potential 'astral body' blockers.

:-)
